Have you ever messed with prank callers? I have.

People are dumb as hell if they think I'm going to answer my phone from an unknown number

With that being said, they'll leave me voicemails which I immediately delete

Not prank callers but phone scammers.
I wanna mess with them.
I always get calls from indian men named Josh or some american name who have detected a problem with my computer.
They're trying to get my information.
"hello my name is josh and I am calling from Microsoft. We've detected a virus in your computer." "uhhh no. Your name is Raj and you're trying to steal my information."
One called awhile back and I just shouted "Oh crap! Iguanas!" and then I hung up.

I wanna do stuff like repeat everything they say in a silly voice.
or start talking to them like I know them. "hey, Josh! Where you been?!"
or I could act like it's some shady business. "listen Josh. Santiago wants his money. I'd hate for your face to look like a Picasso."
"Hey, Joshy boy. *moans* What are you wearing?"

I bet one of you are the prank callers.

Joking aside, we don't have a home phone since it's a shared apartment. I've had a crazy ex and his pals ring me up days and weeks in a row just to find my credit card information. It's obvious though because I've been around them... Their voices won't be changing anytime soon with the amount of booze and smoking they do.

I don't answer my phone calls unless it was a preplanned appointment. But back in the Nokia brick phone days, people would prank call, so I would leave the line on, and they wouldn't be able to hang up and run their minutes All you have to do is NOT hang up, and they won't be able to hang up, which would annoy them.

I usually never answer my phone unless I recognize the number. If it happens to be a scam I'll play along. When they ask for personal information I tell them to hold on while I go check something. I then put my phone on the counter and go do something else.

I unleashed police to one who made the mistake of calling me four times.

Was fun =)

Not for them though.

Should probably clarify this bit, at one sate I were in position I had to answer all calls in my business phone, during that time one caller was pretending to be foreigner and I could always hear laughter on background and occasional clearly fake comments in gibberish language.

So I wrote up the times and calls then brought them to a police I knew, he traced them down and gave them a call back.

Never heard about em afterwards.

I don't get prank calls.
Once a drunk person I no longer talk to had a conversation with my answering machine.

I am surprised to hear about prank calls because I thought that they basically ended when caller ID became widespread. The Jerky Boys were the famous prank callers who gave it sort of the last hurrah. http://www.thejerkyboys.com

I've only been "prank" called once, by some wanker from school. I just told him to kill him self because I was sleepy.
