Just happened last night, actually:

Some Indian guy calls, claiming he's from Microsoft support, or whatever, and he can clean our computers up. So, asked if he needed our credit card numbers, because we have two, and he's like "no, no credit cards", with his Indian accent. Okay, so do you need our IP address? "No, no IP address". By this point, the phone is on speaker, and my mom, who hates such calls (because it would ruin our computers, and we'd lose all personal information), decided to cut in with "We don't want your F-ing help, so take it and shove it up your butt!", and then proceeded to hang up.

Thanks mom, that could have been amazing...offering if the guy wanted delivery, or he would come pick up the pizza himself XD but nope, had to hang up!

If it's not in my contact, I don't answer. I do on text messages when people get the wrong number.

I send them memes.

Not prank callers but phone scammers.
I wanna mess with them.
I always get calls from indian men named Josh or some american name who have detected a problem with my computer.
They're trying to get my information.
"hello my name is josh and I am calling from Microsoft. We've detected a virus in your computer." "uhhh no. Your name is Raj and you're trying to steal my information."
One called awhile back and I just shouted "Oh crap! Iguanas!" and then I hung up.

I wanna do stuff like repeat everything they say in a silly voice.
or start talking to them like I know them. "hey, Josh! Where you been?!"
or I could act like it's some shady business. "listen Josh. Santiago wants his money. I'd hate for your face to look like a Picasso."
"Hey, Joshy boy. *moans* What are you wearing?"

OMG! This is the EXACT call I got te other day and it was INDEED an Indian guy named Josh. He actually yelled at me when I told him I used an AV, a Firewall and 3 different anti-malware programs to protect my computer "LISTEN! THAT DOESN'T MATTER OR HELP! THIS IS A NEW THING!". I lmao. I went along with him claiming to do what he was telling me while telling him "this isn't working!" and "My computer just locked up and won't reboot!" to hear his response. In the end I told me I had to do a full reboot of my system and I'd have to give him a call back and asked for his number. He gave it to me and I reported him to the FTC. It won't stop him but it'll at least cost him the price of a burner phone .

Never really get prank calls, so it would be hard to mess with them...

I do mess with people legitimately trying to call me all the time though. And God help you if you dial my number on accident.

No, but my family collectively messes with scammers, including my parents since they are just tired of the crap. If they call our house multiple times we put my high school aged brother on the phone and he talks to them in an erotic fashion (usually gay).Needless to say, they never call back

Yeah, I can't say I've had many experiences with that.

Although my dad told me how long ago he had a friend who had an airhorn at the ready by the phone for telemarketers.

I wish that had more practical applications in this age, cause that's hilarious.

I have never considered doing this. Maybe I should. There is a particularly persistent scammer company that keeps calling no matter how man times we refuse to pick up the phone. Now the only thing to do is think is think of a good way of messing with them.

Because if it has to be done then dammit, it should be memorable.

I was one of those pranksters once. Back in the day when people didn't avoid all of the unknown names, *67 yo, we had a riot using celebrity soundboards, it was great.

My sister liked to make fun of spanish speakers by ridiculing them for not speaking english. We were little kids, She wasn't very bright back then... I thought it was funny because I wondered what they were saying for so long before hanging up.

Ooh. If someone prank called me, I'd pretend to be a prank caller and make that person think they prank called the wrong person.
