Never too old for anime! Do what you enjoy.

Nope no one is never told old to like something in all honesty. Only reason in my opinion would be if you get bored but even if you do take a brief hiatus from something you liked you always come back to it especially if you liked it in my opinion.

i don't see what the problem is, i work a full time job. In Fact, i work for The United States Postal Service in a big P&DC, so i have a good job and i pay my bills just like everyone else.

My friend, I'm 31 this year and I still watch anime, read manga and play videogames. Being from a small rural town, there's nobody I know of who I can share this with- my friends know of my interests, even though it's not their cup of tea. I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks- it's harmless, I enjoy it and I can spend my hard-earned sterling however I like.
You need somewhere to talk/socialize/whatever, you come straight here, to good ol' Crunchyrollville. There's a few assholes here and there, but that's life.

29 is too old far cartoons, and that is what they are thinking, they don't realize anime is nothing like a cartoon.

It is like comparing CSI to Barnie.

People say stuff like that all the time: you're too old for cartoons, anime, video games, etc. As Nayru said, fuck the haters, why is it a taboo to enjoy something you like? I'm still fairly young with 19 but that doesn't stop me from loving anime as well as cartoons like Adventure Time, Star vs The Forces of Evil, Steven Universe, etc. And of course my favorite hobby which is playing video games.

I won't stop watching and playing things that I like only because other persons told me to. If you want to stop watching anime or play games, then do it only if it's because you're not enjoying it as much as you did in past years, but don't do it only because people tell you that they don't like what you like.

What you like is part of who you are. I mean, look at sports. People pay millions to watch grown men play a game. A game. Grown men will RIOT over the results of a sporting competition, but objectively, what are you really looking at? Usually, people chasing after a ball, playing the exact same game that they did when they were children... but because of the culture we're brought up in, you don't typically hear people say "Aren't you too old to be watching sports?" but objectively, it's still a childish pass time.
Mind you, there are grown men who put more money into their 'man caves' who are in their 40's desperately trying to recapture their youth than most 'oldtakus' put into DVD and manga collections in their lifetime, so it puts things into perspective.

I'm in my 30's now and I still love animation and video games, the big difference however is that they're not priorities in my life. The -real- shame would be denying yourself and spending your life trying to conform to societal norms just to keep up appearances. Besides, anime is a lot less harmful than becoming an alcoholic.
