Ok so I have my eye on this little item :

It's on ebay and it's coming from China but my searches bring up very little about it aside from one, rather garish, image of a painted band of sorts.

The description for it reads;

"this item is refined hand-tailored & fully customized
★ 100% Brand new & High quality 925 silver+leather

★ Color: (As shown in picture) ★ Size:19.3x7x2cm

item suit for the cuff Circumference is under 15cm

[High Quality Studio Made- Original Design] "

I'm tempted but not sure if I'm asking to be ripped off or not? Being sold by someone with a respectable 99.6% rating, but of course that can't be completely trusted.

Any advice?

kek, almost everything anime-related from China is a bootleg. I bet it's cheap, correct?

Well if there's a return policy then go for it. If you want to play it safer then ask the seller for more images and/or more information.

ComboChrist- To be honest that was my first thought, about it being bootleg and yes the price has me questioning it as it's $20.99 not including postage.

As usual there is the 14 day returns policy and I doubt I'd get anymore pictures of the actual product.

I'm still mulling it over but I'm not entirely hopeful the pictures are accurate of what I might get.

I can't seem to find an 'official' version of this bracelet (meaning coming from Japan + from a reliable distributor) so this really seems like it's a Chinese bootleg item. I'd suggest not buying it unless you're okay with bootlegs :L

Just buy stuff from amiami, amazon.jp or rakuten. Hell you can even buy stuff from here at the crunchy store. I would rather do that than get some bootleg...

Buying from china is like saying you want a low quality bootleg lol. China is so bad I've seen bootlegs come out before the real thing comes out lol.

Steer away from bootleg merchandise if you want to support the anime industry.
The makers and sellers of these do not have permission of any kind from the original owners, meaning the original creators aren't getting their share of the revenue.

Apart from that, a lot of bootleg merchandise is made under extremely questionable conditions, exploitation, slavery and child labor to name just a few.

I would also question the materials used.

Dude, almost EVERTHING from china is fake when it comes to anime/manga stuff. So only get it if it doesnt cost much and you think it looks cool.

But dont ask anyone to identify it because even if they did, it wouldnt be the real one.

I'm well aware of the questionable nature of stuff you can find on ebay, I'm very particular when I search and always authenticate as much as I possibly can. Hence why I came here.

So, please don't lecture me about supporting the industry, I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't appreciate it. I questioned the item and it's why I came to the forums for a bit of advice, which I am greatly appreciative of, because I had no idea if there were legitimate versions.

I'm also in tune with other great online stores such as amiami, HLJ, etc, etc.

Again not trying to be rude because you don't know the extent of my knowledge, but I'm making it a bit clearer now

So I'll say in my defence: I saw a shiny bauble, wanted it, wasn't 100% sure of it's legitimate origins, came here, wised up, sorted because didn't buy!

Case closed! Thanks for the input.

Hello! I just get such things from Aliexpress, they are even cheaper there. There is also a great Aliexpress blog at https://www.findpare.com/blog-category/aliexpress-blog where you can try looking for such sellers. I guess, it will help you a little. I have got some similar things from Aliexpress for me

A site that sells items cheaper than ebay's counterfeit Chinese imports does not exactly fill me with confidence.

I notice that Aliexpress advertises itself as a Chinese marketing site, which again raises a danger flag. Unfortunately it is a known fact that China produces large quantities of counterfeit goods and the Chinese authorities either cannot enforce control on the producers or are unwilling to do so. I for one won't be touching that site with a barge pole.

Since most likely, it would be a bootleg. Remember you are paying for quality.
