I have a bit of an anxiety disorder, so in order for me to calm down when that really kicks in, I have to distance myself from other people. It's really the only way.

When it's less extreme... wind calms me down. Hot water calms me down. Yawning as well.

Yeah I have the same thing. I get panic attacks, I got rid of em once but then I got em again because of something happening, anyway, I get rid of it through meditation if I'm at home, that's really easy.

One of the best ways I found was doing exercise, like jumping jacks or whatever. Getting that flow really puts you in another state, letting you calm down.

But I have agoraphobia where I get panic when I'm out and I'm alone in public so I really don't know how to calm down.

Yeah I think it's the "in public" part. It sucks, I really feel your pain. I've had some friends suggest meditation and a couple of them are REALLY into that kinda stuff. They swear by it, though they don't have the same disorders, I can believe it has real results... I can honestly say I have not tried it yet...

Now the exercise part... that's some advice I really should follow...

hahaha yeah I mean I've had panic attacks before and meditation pretty much cured em until, shit happen, and I got em again. I think it takes a lot of exposure to your fears, and willpower.

Exercise really does help, gets everything flowing well positive thinking helps as well.

Pokemon go has helped me get outside and face my fears slowly which is pretty funny.

Being alone helps calm me down, during this alone time I like to draw, read and watch anime.
Studio Ghibli movies also help me calm down, they're so peaceful.

Moribito Series, Samurai Champloo, Ah My Goddess and Fruits Basket.
All these anime relax me surprisingly. This is like what I put on the TV when I am cleaning up the house or cooking.

The moment everyone at work and home stops asking me to do things for them and silence sets in?

But seriously, a quiet room with natural light, a glass of wine and a good book or Studio Ghibli flick and I'm in heaven....

Good old fashioned target practice, where the targets are set at 1300 meters away. When I am looking down Cassandra's scope the whole world just kind disappears. There is just me, the target, and the trigger. I honestly always feel a little underwhelmed when I make that prefect shot, centre of mass and I have return to the world...You people kinda make me sick ya know.

Oh, it seems you're back. I've never gone to a shooting range or anything like that, sounds kinda fun though.

On topic, I have to realize why I'm not calm just due to the fact that it's rare for me to not be calm. After I figure that out, if I can't calm myself completely on my own, I get into deep thought, sleep, or just listen to some beautiful music. I also enjoy going on long walks, especially if it's raining, sometimes I can just sit outside and enjoy what's around me while I'm outside, I can also resort to gaming or reading something.

Title explains it all. How do you relax/calm yourself, in any situation? Or do you just not care about being calm, and just destroy everything in your path?

To tell the truth, it really depends on the situation If the problem is BIG, it's rather difficult for me to stay calm, I mean not to be agressive but not to become too depressive My dear people usually help me in such cases and also my "inner strength", it's always with me but sometimes it's very hard to feel it at all...
And if the problem isn't too scaring, I try just not to focus on it for some time and later to think calmer about all that stuff I usually find relaz in such cases during my work, practising art, listening to my favourite music, drinking my favourite coffe made with th stuff similiar to these ones http://jonsguide.org/best-drip-coffee-maker/ with cakes or chocolate, cuddling with my cats... A lot of ways can be!

The most important thing is to remember that every problem can be solved during the time

Music sometimes, but it doesn't always work. Exercise helps, along with music sometimes. It all just depends on the situation, along with my aforementioned, less acceptable solutions

1st time on the Crunchyroll Forums...on the same night I joined this anime-oriented link...Glad I scouted it out 1st! Anyway,to your topic...How to relax/calm myself,in any situation? I have a way,& it ties in with your link perfectly...Who's ever heard of "Vocaloid song covers"? Seeing I'm new here,it's most likely 'not many of you'...I could be wrong, though! Believe it or not,I happen to be a player on an on-line computer game that would tailor to people who are familiar with WW2 aircraft & armored vehicles...called War Thunder! Now,I only have been on the game for close to 2 years now...& let's face it: It might be fun knocking some of the other players out of the sky (like I do),or beating some poor sot's tank to Swiss cheese, but there are times that it gets stressful...I should know,I felt it! So,I came across the YouTube's special music sub-section called "Vocaloid song covers" back in May of this year...& I'm glad I did! Every night, after a lot of "on-line brawls"on War Thunder,I just hit YouTube, find "Vocaloid song covers",select the package,& let 'em play! Those covers of best-known songs have a way of bringing me back to Earth (sort of!) Best Vocaloid voices to go for: Hatsune Miku,& Megurine Luka! They might not be real, but they're down-right effective...Those techno-people from Japan & other Far Eastern lands know their stuff,& they can bring Luka,Miku,& the others to life! So much so,I would've wanted those two as my therapists! Here's a favor to all who read this 1st posting of mine here: Check the "Vocaloid Song Covers" on YouTube...& see what you think of them! If they help you relax like me,then you're in good company!!! Goodnight, all of you!!!
