I don't know if I am posting this in the right area, but the title says it all. I have a slew of projects I am working on and would like an inker/toner to work with me. I have tried working with a few people but due to a mixture of complications in my personal life and (I can only assume) complications from the people I have worked with's own personal life, they have fallen through at one point or another. I am in a great position to focus on a project now though and am looking for someone the same. The stories and art are original, no doujinishi or fanfic and I would be willing to listen to suggestions and input on writing or art styles. I would also be fine with submitting the final piece to publishers or contests if you want to try that, and if that is the route we choose any success/prizes will be split evenly between us including credit as artist. I don't necessarily mind whether you have experience or not as long as you have enthusiasm and some degree of skill. Some of my older art is posted below so you can see the level I am at and decide if that is a level you are okay with or can work with.

Doodle from early 2015.

More serious drawing from early 2016.

A full page shot from about 3 or 4 months ago, as you can see my inking skills have a lot of room for improvement but I think the art quality is in a realm where some sort of publication or contest is more than a pipe dream. (Hopefully)

I would prefer inking and toning digitally, as I am very cautious about giving my original pencils to anybody to work on, I do expect to communicate pages and works through dropbox as a way for us both to avoid any worries of theft or trying to claim credit for the entire project yourself. I am pretty easy to get along with and right now is a great time for me to focus on this project. I have a handful of stories/characters/settings and designs already but would be up for a project pitch if someone had something really well thought out in mind.

I am looking specifically to do a project between 20-50 pages as a one shot to start, leave me a PM or comment if you're interested!

Wow, these are really good. I can see why you're so optimistic about entering a contest or possibly being published. The artwork is great. I'd be interested in looking at a script , or maybe a summary of what your story's about. I'm trying to get into the comic writing business myself, but I can barely draw a straight line so I'd have to attach myself to someone more talented like yourself.

I wouldn't mind helping you out with some inking if you can't find anyone else more qualified for the job. It's not something I've ever tried before (like I said I'm not a very talented artist, but at the very least I can trace stuff), and I would need to buy a digital art program and a digital drawing and graphics tablet.

Let me know if you can't find anyone more experienced than myself, and I'll try to help as best I can. If you do find someone better, I still wouldn't mind taking a look at your story and proofreading it for you.

Thanks for the reply! Inking digitally isn't something that really requires the hordes of practice that art itself takes and if I was clear about which type of toners to use and where then that might be manageable too, like I said i'm not to worried about previous experience or anything if the job can get done proficiently.

So what about this:

(It's upside down and I don't know how to flip it, sorry!)

That's the pencils for a page of an older manga I ended up putting on hold, Paint Tool Sai is a decent program and free if I am not mistaken, so maybe try inking/toning this page (which I think would be one of the harder ones to ink/tone) and message me with the result and if you think you still want to partner up. Just a thought.

I'm a VFX major but I am taking a collision course with illustrator and have a decent amount of experience in photoshop. I'm a total sucker for your first piece and will give it a try in illustrator if that's okay with you, Cheers!
