YO BRO I LOVE PSYREN! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE... *ahem*

One manga I really really like, but I understand why it's not very popular is this:

Jisatsutou, or "Suicide Island"
It follows the basic premise that a group of teenagers and others in that age group being sent to an island. All of them have attempted suicide twice and failed, so the government, in an effort to reduce medical costs, sends those who no longer care to live to this isolated island. The rest of the manga mostly follows Sei, and his revitalization in life and his outlook over time in the face of starvation.

But again, I get why no one really notices this one, because of the very bizarre art-style and realistically dark tone. It also takes a while to get going, and until then all the characters except one named Ryou are very whiny. But that's kind of the charm to see people on the brink of suicide pick themselves back up and see life in a whole new way.

Golden Days. Just look at that scenery... but no one likes historical much.

Most of my favorite manga are a little obscure, but Golden Days is practically unknown.

Don't let the cover deceive you like it did me...it's pretty brutal sometimes.

I honestly starting reading this a week ago and it's shot up to one of my favorite manga of all time.
It made me check out Zatch Bell because its the same creator and now i love that too!! But Zatch Bell is already pretty well known and Animal land has a different kind of greatness to it.
It's 14 volumes long and in America and the UK its up to volume 10. Check it out with an open mind.
