Bio-Meat: Nectar. It's an action-horror series where a genetically engineered species of animal known as Bio-Meat has been created in response to a global food shortage. Bio-Meat can eat anything except rocks, glass and metal, and as it builds mass, it reproduces by splitting off into duplicates. An earthquake causes a bunch to get loose into the nearby town, where they wind up devouring most of the populace. The main characters are a bunch of kids who escape their school after Bio-Meat eats their classmates. Bio-Meat's biggest weaknesses are fire and direct sunlight, and as it has no eyes or nose, it hunts by sound, so the kids have to figure out a way to escape the town using limited resources.

Are you Alice?

It's not that nobody has heard about it, but I really want to see an anime adaptation of it (with the voice actors of its drama CDs) and all the manga getting translated and being available.

Homunculus, man. That's a great manga. It's so psychological though I feel like I need to read it again to fully understand it.

Cried so much reading this story. It's a masterpiece. Please read this if you haven't.

I'm so happy many of my manga favourites are getting anime adaptations and people will know about them but one that is still pretty unknown (besides the tons of shoujo and yaoi) is Kaguya-sama wa kokurasetai tensai tachi no renai zunousen

Blood Lad
An ongoing shounen comedy that I truly adore and I'm still continuing to read it, on volume 7 but chapter 62. Blood

Monokuro Shounen Shoujo
I discovered this rather late but got hooked into very quickly, it's a very cute shoujo with a funny concept to it but I feel is overlooked.

Pandora Hearts
A very wonderful series that is still my favorite Shounen, I grew attached to many characters and even cried plenty of times. Especially the later chapters, it's complete and I'd happily go back to read it again.

Vanitas no Cate/The Case Study of Vanitas
A manga this is just starting but already I'm enjoying it quite a lot, it's by the creator of Pandora Hearts.

Alice no kuni no heart/Alice in the Country of Heart series
A shoujo based off an otome game or the other way around, I'm not sure but also has a reverse harem to it as it has many names as Alice goes to different countries and winds up with different romantic partners. It's a very fun series that I truly enjoy and would recommend to start with the Country of Hearts if you want to truly start from the beginning.

Moe Kare
A series I have read multiple times and still haven't gotten tired of it, I enjoy love triangles when they're done right and to me, this one did it very well and stuck it's landing.

Shinshi Doumei Cross/The Gentleman's Alliance Cross
The first Arina Tanemura series I ever read and it's still my favorite, I loved many, many characters and loved every point of character development that happened.

I could mention any manga to just about anyone around where I live, and they would not have a clue what I was talking about if it were not mainstream (specifically Naruto, Dragonball, Bleach, Attack on Titan, etc.) That said, some of my lesser/non-sensationalized favorites are:

Let Dai
(okay, so it's actually manhwa, but who really cares?)

La Esperanca

Bad Teacher's Equation

Fine, fine, fine. I'll turn off the fudanshi:

Requiem of the Rose King (strictly speaking it wasn't a lie)

No. 6 (I know, I got a bromance addiction... shut up!)

Kurozakuro

Switch

I don't know if it is unpopular, but none of friends knew about Blazer Drive, Kishimoto Seishi's work. Well, if they read it, they will criticize it about having similarities to Naruto, using the BROTHERS bond and the first chapter really reminds the first chapter of Naruto. But, it is a good series, I still haven't finished it, but I am really enjoying every chapter.

Also, another series which caught my interest is Suzuki Nakaba's past work, Kongo Bancho! A nice battle manga

seriously though ya'll need to check out Korean webtoons

http://www.webtoons.com/en/ or they have the app too

Daum has good ones too, but they're harder to find in English

my favs used to be Noblesse and Tower of God, but both are pretty well known now and i'm honestly not that interested in them anymore. still, even the shoujo Korean webtoons are really good, and that's saying something considering korean dramas and shoujo manwhas absolutely suck

I found Spottoon because it has this awesome thing called - He is a High School Girl.

https://www.spottoon.com/workHome?book_no=33

I wonder if you have read the Korean Shoujo Manwha "Confessing Truthfully" or Hwang Mi Ri's works "Crazy Girl Shin Bia", "Honggane", Seisung! Bring it on!" "He's dedicated to Roses" , "Cutie Boy" "Idol Shopping". I pretty much love all things Hwang Mi Ri. I started reading Confessing truthfully, because it was drawn similar to Hana Yori Dango and there is a dark skinned guy in it, which apparently was a great controversy when it came out.

Before I ever became a Skip Beat! fan, I read Tokyo Crazy Paradise, and I am glad I did because I will die before Ren and Kyoko get together.

Basically fighter girls and gender-benders, which seems to be not so popular anyway :(

If you like historical kdramas (or cooking) make sure to Dae Jang Geum, it got me hooked on the dramas. There is also one called Empress Ki, which I did not realize was the same lead as in the movie 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant.

otaku rant over XD
