That the sign is funny is predicated upon the Black Lives Matter movement lending itself to humor and mockery, so the movement was right to see the sign as a jab. But making light of them is not the same as dismissing the merits of their cause. I think BLM loses in this one. The woman quoted above talking about "bad taste, "salt in the wounds," and "a shred of humanity" could have made it better if she doubled down on the food references, but instead she descended into duckspeak. Let's imagine that automata like her don't speak for all of BLM, and that most of them can indeed laugh along with the rest of us.

huh...i honestly don't know what to make of this. i could dismiss this as people having sticks up their asses, but i would also imagine that people are frustrated in being closely involved in these current events. will complaining about a billboard really help the situation? i mean people are dead, that much is a thing, but isn't the hostility just revolving back and forth at that point?
