By breaking rules or posting something that is either intentionally bait or will be taken as bait, thus shitting up threads and the entirety of the forum, the latter already technically already being a rule, but some people fail to understand it.

3) Be respectful of other users and assume goodwill. Don't insult other users; don't troll, don't flame, don't offer up flamebait.

Not really. Some people understand it intimately, and simply want to be banned. I did. It was a means to an end for me to relieve stress (though it wasn't as long as I'd have hoped for). Requesting a ban service isn't offered anymore, and well, ppl resort to it out of boredom and its fun as hell to do bannable shit. ) Lets see, I spammed a provocative message on as many people as I could, it was ingenious. I needed a break, and this way I was forced to take one and ppl leave me the fuck alone cause I'm banned. I'm grateful for it.

Perhaps you should take a look at yourself and wonder why you lack the self control to take a break on your own, then. After that would ideally be working on the problem so you don't resort to bad behaviour.

However, it is unlikely for this to happen for anyone, since our brains are evil and rarely ever support us in bettering ourselves as people, at least in the way we consciously wish to. This is not an excuse for not at least giving it a go, though.

Continuing to violate CR's Site Rules after being warned. Spammers get banned or deleted immediately, but most real users will get several warnings before being banned.

The most common repeat offenses that lead to bans are:

- personal attacks against other users

- trolling/baiting (we actually have a fair amount of tolerance for people expressing controversial opinions, even aggressively, but there is a line that some folks like to cross, that mods and other users don't like them to)

- being lewd in an explicit or especially crass or harassing way.

PSA to all reading this thread. I deleted a few posts from a now self-deleted account that didn't seem very helpful, and some replies to that. As a result the next few new posts will appear out of order. With more posts things will get back to more or less normal.
