I never voted to leave the EU not all Brits are morons as for loosing pounds in the diet sense of the world a balance diet and light exercise can do so much just effort and will power.

Lift weights, eat healthy & drink plenty of water. Cut out soda and sweets. Try to eat more complex carbs, and meat that is high in protein. On the days that I do not go to the gym, my carb intake is low. So my meals are usually rice, green beans & chicken (anticipated gym days) and then zoodles & chicken & spinach (off days). I lift about 4-5x a week & I only do cardio 3x a week for 20 minutes on the stair master.

just drink water and don't eat anything for 2-3 weeks

it's sad that we Americans are spending billions on getting into shape or being healthy when we keep stuffing ourselves with fast food

oh.. don't be fat shaming now.. just let them continue to stuff themselves until that fateful day of a heart attack, stroke, etc..

fasting for a few weeks vs stuffing more fat and cholesterol into your blood vessels? or trying those dangerous diet pills?

if you want to get the most from exercise.. get out of the house/gym

and instead of running on your elliptical or treadmill. ...run on the actual road instead

1.5 miles in 8-10 minutes? it's doable right?
it's not as easy on concrete when the floor is not moving and you have to do all the work! vs a treadmill/elliptical

this is why people who proudly brag about spending 90+ minutes on their treadmill each day can't handle 1.5 mile run under 8 minutes

By don't eat anything do you mean don't stuff your face with food 5 times a day? Or literally don't eat anything at all?

Drink one glass of water with chia seeds and squeeze some lemon juice. Not only is it good for losing weight but helps as a cleanser for the body. My father started it for a month and his big ol belly is almost gone! Do take in mind diet does count. Vegetarian/vegan diet is easy too incorporate twice or more in a week or just more veggies and less fatty foods.
