Losing passion in things
Posted 7/26/16 , edited 7/26/16
So I want to ask you guys a question.
Have you guys ever lost passion in something you once found fun or enjoyable?

I have lost my passion to watch anime for months now, it takes an exceptional anime to get me into watching anime again such as Jojo, but as of right now I haven't seen a new seasonal anime since Parasyte last year. That's how long it's been.
I do honestly love anime but I guess you can say the spark just isn't there anymore and I was wondering if any of you guys have been in this situation with anime or any other things and how you guys may have brought that spark or interest back.

I have a lot of hobbies because things come in phases. Sometimes I don't watch anime for a month or two and other times I watch 5 series in one week. I don't think theres ever been something that I've permanently lost passion in.

Well, it has happened to me once, I once lost interest in video games (I got it back later on, though).
I've always loved video games, but suddenly after I had graduated high school, I lost interest in video games, I'm not sure why though. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I was more focused on going on an exchange because that was happening at the moment.
For almost 2 years, I felt that about games.
Suddenly, my friends recommended me to play Resident Evil 4 because I had never played a RE game ever before that.
I listened to my friends' recommendation, I bought RE 4, played it and my interest, or "passion", for games returned and hasn't left since.
Maybe in your case, as like mine, is just a phase or something. Maybe you need to see an amazing anime that will blow your mind so that the spark comes back.
RE 4 greatly impressed me the first time I played it, so that did it for me.

Mostly anything but then I regain some of it, I mostly go from something to something else and then goes back to something I used to like.

I don't think that I've ever completely lost passion in any of my hobbies, although my interest might wax or wane at times.

Yes. I have lost passion in anime, manga, video games, some music, and .... porn, for the past few months. Basically don't enjoy any of my hobbies anymore.

You need to change your outlook and experience in life. Becoming bored of usual things is a survival mechanism built into us. It's so we can explore new things and grow as people, ultimately making us more secure and stronger mentally.

Do something new. Live in a different place. Even just visit a different place for awhile. Soon enough your same old will look fresh again when you return.

Sometimes I feel like I don't care about any of my hobbies any more, even the ones I used to love like anime and video games. I used to watch anime everyday and now I barely watch two episodes a week

I use to love playing guitar and took lessons for years to get really good in the last five years I still love music but I don't find much enjoyment in playing anymore. Same goes for drawing since I was a kid.

I guess I have lost a little passion for watching anime.

Don't get me wrong, I will watch my favorite animes with passion. Spice and Wolf, fate Zero, samurai girls/Bride, and many others, those are the anime that still drive my passion for anime.

The thing is, a year ago I was pumped to watch new series, but slowly I just lost interest, because it just feels like anime is slowly losing its passion, and it kinda sucks to say that, but it's true.

Right now my mind just doesn't feel it anymore. Like I haven't even watched the rest of season 1 of Food Wars, and I loved Food Wars..... I don't know anymore, I guess I'm just worried that the people who create anime are losing passion

But it doesn't stop me one bit from wanting to strive to make my own, that's the only thing that really drives me to try out new series
