I'm pretty interested in how the localization is done. I've already beaten it in Japanese (got the Famitsu DX edition) and am curious as to how it comes across in the Western version. Many of the themes are heavy in Japanese territory (government and the likes) that could very easily translate to modern day US/UK too.

Allegedly some Gamestops are doing "midnight" launches at 9pm till 9:15 or 9:30. Might want to call your local store if that's where you preordered.

I can confirm that. My local Gamestop is going to start selling the game at 9 PM sharp, though it's not exactly a midnight launch event as it is an early sale of the game itself. What I plan to do is drop by and pick up a standard edition for the PS4 controller skin and play all night while I wait for my Collector's Edition shipment tomorrow.

DISPATCHED.
I love it when I get this hyped for a game release- reminds me of when I was a teenager for some reason. Shame my damn holidays aren't until the 17th though..... I applied well in advance but I still couldn't get this 2 weeks off!

Picked this up earlier today but I'm not touching it until I finish Zelda BotW.

My GS had a midnight launch for P5 but the girl behind the counter said only 3 people were in line.

Is there a strategy guide for this? I don't normally buy guides but foe Persona ans the SMT series I kinda make it a tradition.

Ah, the wait is finally over. Can't believe it took so long for this game to come out.

Only an hour and half in, but the MC already has points over the other Persona protagonists for clocking that one dude, lol.

Be mindful of your calendar. If you're not sure what to do - check the network calendar to see what the vast majority of people did that day. You can't necessarily grind to an insane level like you can in other games without sacrificing other aspects of the game. Essentially, choices matter.

Cool game so far but the farthest I got before work yesterday was the bit where you go to the rooftop and talk to Ryuji. My friend was talking about how she's played a lot (I wanna say 14 hours??) and is still in the first palace.

Also, I like that Atlus has taken a hardcore stance on spoilers but I can see how frustrating it might be to be a streamer/LPer and be told "no you can't play our game on camera without following super strict guidelines". I know the Best Friends Zaibatsu cancelled their LP of it midrecording when they found out.

Can you hang out with friends and visit the dungeon in the same day?

In most cases, no. It really depends on the activity. For example, I've been able to train with Sakatmoto and then went into a Palace during the evening.

The first Palace takes a little bit of navigating. I finished it a lot sooner than that but with all of the cutscenes and how intense the first Palace is (a lot of storyline plots need to move along for you to finish it as well as the fact that you're lower-leveled) ... it's not surprising.

I have friends who are absolutely livid about Atlas' stance on no-screenshots/sharing video clips from Persona 5. Some are upset about the streaming regulations more so than the locking of the "share" button's functionality. I'm not too bothered by it, personally. There are some moments where I wish I could have taken a screenshot - I just go back to the old school days (PS3 and older) where you simply pull out your phone and take a picture.

Keep feeling like I'm going to miss out on something and screw my chances of finishing the game.

This is on the trickiest (and best, personally) aspects of Persona (3-5, at least). You kind of have to be aware of your time limit - making sure you get enough levels to take down the boss(es) in the dungeon while still balancing any social aspects of the game. I tend to focus on tackling a reasonable amount of the Palace first (at least half way) as soon as I can. Keep in mind that you will need two days after you locate the treasure to give a "calling card" to the person you're taking down.. it does become a juggle/balance of your time.
