I disagree, I think that two people fighting is the most primal, physical activity a person can engage in, I believe that all people have both a creative, and a destructive side, neither of which should be neglected. Of course the gang mentality is both ugly and base, something we could all do without.

Sorry, but tha kind of stuff never happens in real life. I know this quite well as I am a fighter myself. Backflip kicks and midair combat just don't happen. If you were to pit the absulute best fighters in the world against each other, you might see this kind of crazy stunt happen in one out of every hundred our even thousand matches, but thats it. In a a fight where both combatants are skilled, it almost always comes down to who has more guts, better technique, good reflexes, and also luck.

Real fights are very straight forward. Thats why we put these crazy scenes in anime; humans like to watch both fighting and superhuman feats and anime provides the latter much more easily than reality.

I agree that fighting can be brutal and pointless, but it can also be the exact opposite. Fighting can be a very liberating and noble experience. It can indeed bring out the worst in people, but like with me I feel that it can also bring out the best. I can't describe the feeling of accomplishment and respect you can gain through sparring with a worthy opponent. Also with all the training and hard work needed to be at your peek, fighting can be a great way to improve yourself physically and mentally.

i hear you knight, its jsut that sometimes its not fun getting your face kicked in sometimes, especially when people are gathering around and laughing. I actually did a little pankration in the summer of 04'.

When it is a fair fight, with amicable parties, do you not agree its incredibly liberating and exhilarating Cbi?

yea i know what your saying cocky about freeing the animal within us, but when you see enough actual fights, they end in human brutality - or at least the ones i have. Maybe im biased because of my experiances but i get where you guys are coming from.

There is a line, albeit a somewhat thin one that seperates fighting and brawling. Brawling would be where the only desired outcome is the pain of the other party. This is a shallow and small minded thing to do. Fighting on the other hand is a challenge between two (seldom more) people where the desired outcome can range from having fun to physical training to making a living (legal martial art sports such as boxing.) It sounds like you have been unfortunate enough to have only witnessed the first of these.

I guess ive just have different experiances, that's all. When i see two dudes begin to lay their fists into another's skull, they usually don't differentiate between a brawl or this noble 'fight'.
