Depends on the season.

I currently live in mountain area and I cannot tolerate heat in the summer. I grew up part of my childhood in sea area and wind was cool enough to cool down my entire house with windows open; no need for air conditioning. However in the winter, sea area was freezing cold so I prefer mountain area.

I used to think I would prefer the mountains, and that's one reason why I moved to where I live today.

However, things can get pretty boring after a few years, bear and moose attacks are always a possibility, and annual wildfires are a bitch!

I desperately miss the ocean, the smell of salt air, the cry of seagulls, surf fishing, clamming, scuba diving, and sailing.

I'm between two mountain ranges right now. Its very nice, but I miss the salt air and seagulls. At least I'm close. before I lived lear the sea and an hour from the mountains. Now Im in the mountains and an hour from the sea. Since I'm right off the same freeway (I-5) I like that an easy visit for friends and family driving through.
