Yup, that is the one I believe I ended up using to submit my case. If others are looking, that should work. If nothing else comes of it, at the least it gives them a count of how many people are effected and how to prioritize.

Most devs can turn an app arrive in a day to fix issues with launching, the fact that 7 had been out for 6 weeks now and still no fix is getting ridiculous.

Hello,

we are already working on a fix for the Android TV app.

Best regards,

Looks like issue is at least recognized by support staff.

What on earth is taking so long, seriously? DId they have to rewrite the whole app from the ground up?

I seriously doubt it. This looks like deprioritization to me. They have other issues too like why do they use flash to play videos on the website :/ it's not for drm because there's already software to download the videos...

That hasn't stopped companies from putting out video on DVD using CSS, either.

DRM is more about satisfying the publishers who control the content more than actually preventing anything but casual piracy.

Here is something really funny, I installed the Crunchyroll Android TV app on my fire TV just to see what would happen and low and behold it loads and works perfectly. I don't mean a mobile app i mean the very same app from my Nexus player. There is one slight bug but it is so minor and easily to work around.

See as it works so well begs the question why haven't they released a Fire TV app yet.

I see that the dev team have their priorities in the right place, the Android mobile app had been updated with a new app icon to match the new Google Pixel lancher. While the Android TV app is left in a non functioning state for 2 months.

Different teams working on these apps, so your point is moot. And a whole lot of things were done for the Android app, the icon is the smallest part of it.
The Android TV app will get its update shortly, it's in the queue for QA.

I can appreciate that different teams work on different products but the mobile app was functioning where as the TV hasn't worked for two months. Further more the bug was known about for at least two months prior to Android 7 getting pushed to the Nexus Player.

Edit:

Although to be fair I guess it's just Nexus Players that are having this issue and Sony TVs and the Nvidia Sheild are still on Android 6 and thus the number of users being affected is rather small.

Anyone having issues with the Kodi add-in today? I also have the Plex channel as a back up, both worked yesterday but both have stopped today.

@Crunchyroll @ellation Any love this year for the Android TV app? Crashes immediately with Nougat. Not touched since April 21 #EpicFail

My Tweet. Added Ellation since they are the company that writes the program for CR. But Ellation doesn't actually check their tweets and apparently Crunchyroll could give a damn right now about responding.

I will also add that I launch the program each day, let it CRASH then seen feedback. Like it really helps, but I do it anyway.

It's sad to see how little respect this company seems to have for its users like in the throwaway "official" announcement above. No kind of apology or explanation of why it's taken so long, or even why we've had to wait so long for this announcement. :'(

I tried to find your tweet to retweet but have been unable to find it, if you don't mind could you post a link?
