After two months of arguing with the officer he still refuses to inform a member of the public that their identity has been used for fraud over a long period of time and are being investigated by action fraud.
The reason provided was that he does not recognise fraud as an offence and has not collected any evidence on his part to prove the case so he will not investigate further.
I asked another station to make sure someone else was ok but they didn't respond to me until a week after and only because I called them and asked for an update.
sucks

If someone living there wanted to complain on my behalf (which is an option), they would benefit from decreasing the chances of it repeating and if you include the fact that the post code is treated as more valid than the complaint then they might make a note about it if they decide to change the requirements for tourists and people living there without post codes like the house boat owners and homeless.

Were they at least able to do a wellness check on this person? Your situation sounds incredibly frustrating. As someone with family and friends overseas, I can only imagine how disheartening this is. I hope someone comes through to help!

They said they have contacts that work in the same building but didn't ironically contact them either.
I think they want me to do the informing as well as the tracking and detective work.

Also, I suppose: "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

If you don't feel like doing anything for anyone else then you don't have to.
No need to justify it in a way that suggests everyone would be better off sitting around in the dark.

I don't think you understand what I was trying to say-- not in the least. Cheers!

I understand you were quoting out of context and not providing a replacement.
If you didn't mean the literal interpretation of what you said then how am I to know?

"let us not be weary in well doing" - Do you understand english well enough to understand that phrase?

"No good deed goes unpunished." - Do you understand irony?

Regarding your initial post, if you're concerned about letting someone know that their identity is being used for fraud (it's quite vague exactly what this is about), why don't you contact that person directly?

And if you're concerned that someone else is okay, again, why not contact that person directly?

When was the last time you and you paid attention to a long distance phone call or an email from a stranger that says there's an inconsistency in your personal information?

I don't think you understand what "quoting out of context" means. I was actually providing encouragement.

So, did you receive one of those "advance fee fraud" emails claiming to be from Prince Harry and you feel the need to contact him to let him know about it?

Whatever it is that you're complaining about is still quite vague and doesn't even seem to concern you. Unless you explain your problem clearly, how would anyone be able to help? Or are you just trolling?

I see you don't want to quote me in the text so that you can try to sneak in the last word but you are at a disadvantage because you can't outsmart your audience. Or are you just trolling?

Personally if it was me... And my personal information and my identity was being stolen by somebody - I would be really glad to hear it from a stranger.

Because it'd be valid, I suppose.... Especially if you have screenshots and etc or some sort of extra proof.

It shouldn't be too hard. Sorry that you're in such a difficult situation.

Why so hostile? You're making assumptions about me and my intentions that don't exist. From the beginning you assumed (wrongly) that "No good deeds go unpunished" means "don't try doing good deeds". Even when I added an extra quote about continuing to do good. And I didn't quote you simply because it doesn't seem necessary, and leads to towering quote pyramids. That's all.

Good luck!
