Kimi no Todoke. I watched the first episode and thought it was nice; kinda cute honestly. Nothing bad happened and nothing really turned me off. I just don't think I can get around to watching the whole series.

Pretty much every Ghibli film, I do have a soft spot for the original English release of Naussica under the title Warriors of the wind being it was one of the first anime I ever watched. Other than that I find Ghibli films to be Boring and far too dramatic.

I know its a good show but FMA just doesn't do it for me.

FLCL.... If a show requires multiple viewings to understand what the hell is going on its not for me

Toradora!
Everyone goes on about how it's so emotional and romantic and whatnot.
I just saw a complete bitch being abusive.

I only like my 170 anime, the rest (225, that also includes Samurai Girl Real Bout High School, Shadow Skill, Gundam SEED, Mouretsu Pirates, Naruto Shippuuden or even Sacred Seven) are mediocre. As you can see, I'm not a big fan of anime.

Most shonen.

Code Geass

So this is my number one favorite series ever, but I must admit, when I first watched it (age ~16), I had no idea what was going on, and I only kept watching it because my massive crush on Lelouch had already been building for several months. The first few episodes are full of things you're not going to get until you've seen later parts. That is, you understand the words they're saying (aside from the tons of military jargon), but you're not going to know what matters and why until later. And they just throw a ton of concepts and characters at you, and don't give enough to remember them by and tell them apart. I don't know why, but so many series I like have this clarity problem. And since they're full of hot characters, a lot of people tend to think if it doesn't make sense the first time, it must just be bad writing, not something that's going to make sense when you watch it again. (K has this problem too).

So... all you need to know in episodes 1-3 is that Lelouch and Suzaku were friends as kids, and that they haven't seen each other since before the invasion. Don't try to remember everyone's names or roles. Then after you get to about episode 9, watch from episode 1 again. You'll have seen more of characters like Lloyd, the Black Knights, Jeremiah... Lloyd <3.

But yes. I totally get this.

For some reason I can't get into any romantic show whatsoever, except for one: Snow White with The Red Hair. I love almost everything about that show, the characters were great, the animation was gorgeous, the music very serene and fitting and good drama, although the drama was done better in the first season in my opinion. It really felt like I was watching a great Disney romance.

But strangely enough, I can't bring myself to watch any other romantic shows. I tried to watch Toradora, Kimi ni Todoke, and many others because people seem to like them so much, but I fell asleep every single time. I just don't like them at all.

And I guess another would be the Monogatari series, and it's not because of the weird animation, in fact I love how bizarre it is. But I really didn't like anything else beyond the animation. Many people say the characters are a lot deeper than your typical harems, but I didn't find them to be deep at all. They're all normal harem characters. Telling the audience what stereotype you're supposed to be like Senjougahara does without doing anything to change that is not clever, it's just meta dialogue.

What I can't get into the most is when an anime has female protagonist(s)

That's actually interesting considering you're a female. I'm interested to know why. Care to explain?

I find them weak, annoying, or dull

Most of their personalities don't appeal to me
