That refugee team is the ultimate joke, not that I care about these things. Because frankly, I will not pay them anything.

okay? lol
nobody is forcing you to watch anything

Not all Olympians are world-class sportsmen. They just happen to be the best in their respective regions.

So funny but true... I just started working for a new company today, and apparently it's the same company that handles the IT infrastructure required to host, conduct, analyze, and broadcast the Games. They've been doing it since 1989 and their contract has been renewed up until the Tokyo Winter Games in 2020.

Unfortunately I'm not on the team responsible for the games, I'm on a subcontractor team at a data center that our company staffs and manages for Microsoft. But it's funny that I started my job the same week as the Games with the company that is essentially the IOC's IT department.

Team USA taking care of business as usual. Also a shout out to Hoang Xuan Vinh! The first Vietnamese Olympian to win a Gold medal for Vietnam. He won the 10m air pistol competition. Anyway, back to watching the Americans take care of business! Can't wait for the track and field events to start. Definitely my favorite events to watch

And not to sound overly confident, but I really don't plan on watching any of the Women's Soccer or Men's Basketball games until they get to the elimination rounds. Hopefully by then the competition will be able to keep it close I'll give credit to France though! They definitely put up a fight against our Women's team.

For anybody who may have missed it, during the men's gymnastics all-around final, there was a video on Kohei Uchimura--who went on to win the all-around for the second time in-a-row--about how a manga got him into gymnastics. Look up "How Kohei Uchimura discovered gymnastics with a comic book" on the NBC Olympics site if you want to watch the video!

Also, if you're curious what the manga is that he talks about, it's called "Ganba! Fly High"--the anime is called "Ganbarist! Shun". This is literally the only manga--that I could find anyway--that deals with just straight up gymnastics. All the other gymnastics manga out there are actually about rhythmic gymnastics.
