In japan arcades are everywhere, but it looks like the arcades in the united states are dying. discuss.

I miss the days of $20 at the arcade on a free day. I used to have fun either taking on friends on a racing game that really made you feel like you were driving or lining up to take on the pros at the local Street Fighter machine.

I live in Indiana and there are some arcades here but so many of them are practically filled with hunting games. What the heck?
Most of the machines at these arcades are ticket dispensers and that's just for schmucks.

I keep waiting for arcades to make a comeback here in the US but it's not looking good.

What would it take for a revival of arcades in US?

Unlikely but wouldn't that be great?

Dance Dance Revolution made an impact in arcade gaming. Is it going to take something like that?

Arcades are interesting.. I think arcades are great if you're good at a game and wanna show off that you're better than a crap load of other people.. Or if you wanna show everyone that you can get the highest score in Time Crisis.. Or that you can get the highest number of victories against your opponent..

My friend went to an arcade and plugged in his Guitar Hero controller into a Soul Calibur machine... And he won.. He shouted out "Star Power!!" and "Let Darkness Take You!!"
