Daphne raised a brow to his comment, pausing for a bit before resuming. Ah... right.. She thought to herself, looking around and realizing she forgot to bring her coffee. With a sigh she heard him clear the air, and that he was just joking. She let out a slight laugh, the least bit amused and said, "Your humor's... Interesting." As she then put the stethescope to his chest and one hand on his back. "Breathe in and out slowly." And with this, she repeated on different areas of his chest as well as his back.

*He did as she instructed. At first, her stethscope was cold, but his body heat made it warm quickly. His lungs were strong, nothing abnormal with his breathing.* "Have you looked at the new mech? Nurse Divine?"

Daphne took off her stethescope and reached for one of the small magnifying-like lights that hung on the wall by the bed. "I haven't, and- Please, call me Nurse Daphne. Nurse Divine was my mom. Tell me about the Mech," She requested, now looking into his eyes with the light shining in them. Everything seemed to look alright.

Well if you really want me to, but isn't it formal to go by your title follow by your surname? *He rubbed his eyes after she was done shinning the bright light into them.* I haven't seen the mechs, I hear the one I'm going to test fly is capable of orbital strikes.

Lilith chuckled, looking up at the waitress. "Always, sugar. Thanks." She glanced at the Asian boy, smiling wryly. "Big family, huh? You're lucky. Hold them close while you can, kid. Trust me, it's worth it." Waiting until the waitress returned with her refill, she gestured to the woman and leaned close to whisper to her. "Do me a favor? Put a couple of those pies on my bill and pack them to go for the kid as a treat from me." Smiling, she leaned back on her stool again and savored her coffee and sandwich, pushing back a small twinge of envy...

*The boy was confused by the kindness, since it was unwarranted. But he bowed out of respect. "Thank you ma'am." After a small passage of time, the waitress came with another helping of coffee for Lilith. The waitress then began to speak with Lilith; "So, you brought another mark to the military base?"

Lilith smiled at the boy. "Don't mention it." She looked at the waitress and nodded, grinning at the waitress. "It was a piece of cake tracking this one down. Fool hid himself away in the slums and stayed there, thinking the people there wouldn't rat him out. Didn't realize that the neighborhood was one that didn't take to strangers well. Or that anyone would gladly rat him out in return for what my informant did. Then again, she caught me by surprise too. Didn't want money or anything like that, she wanted someone to give her a ride whenever she needed, in order to get to interviews on time so she could land her own job. Girl's got ambitions." She chuckled softly. "I swear, every time I show up at the base with another mark, they always go crazy making sure I'm me. You'd think at least one of them would recognize me by now."

"I couldn't help but over hear the currant conversation." *The Soldier wearing the pilot jumpsuit was standing behind Lilith.* "You ever considered that maybe we're in high alert? We can't trust anyone outside of the military at this time. Fort Drum is on high alert at this time. *The waitress had left, and returned with all of the food the boy ordered, including the 2 pies Lilith ordered for him. The boy payed the full bill for the food he ordered and began to easily carry all of the food. The soldier opened the door for the boy, as he exited*

Lilith turned to look at the soldier, chuckling. "Every time I bring in a mark though? Over the last three and a half years? I get jobs for you guys pretty frequently. And to be frank, the only reason I don't work strictly for the military is because you have to many rules, the dress code frankly sucks, and I like being my own boss. I get the most money on bounties from you guys."

I'm sure all that black leather does wonders for your skin during the hot summer. Yes, we've been on high alart for 4 years. As for our uniforms, that's just an opinion. Personally, I love my jumpsuit. My names Maurice, by the way.

Lilith chuckled. "I don't feel the heat, actually, so it doesn't bother me in the least. It's the cold I can't stand. Besides, anything other than denim or leather tends to catch and leave bits of fuzz in my joints, and it's a pain to get it cleaned out again." She grinned at him, looking him over. "The jumpsuit does look good on you, but not everyone can pull it off. The name's Lilith."
