Hey guys, I'll be going off to college in a couple of months but don't want to carry my ps4 with me for personal reasons. However, I do want to be able to watch anime.

I was thinking about getting a streaming device like a Chromcast, or Amazon Fire TV. I have a roku but I may have to leave that here as well for my family and I think that the app is a bit ugly on Roku anyway.

A Chromecast seems nice and portable but with an iPhone, I'm not sure if I can use it to its full potential. Also, there doesn't seem to be a Funimation app. Not sure if you can find another way to use funimation on it, if anyone knows could they tell me?

Amazon Fire TV seems like an awesome option, the only problem is that I live in Canada so it may be more expensive to get it over here, (If it even works over here)

Lastly, just get another Roku. While Roku does seem to have both Funi and CR and is available in Canada, I presonally think the UI for both is atrocious. It just seems extremely dated compared to their console versions, and I'm not sure how much they really pay attention to updating it.

If you have any other suggestions, be sure to let me know!

If I ever get a computer worth something then that'll have to do. Its a really good option but my current laptop is extremely slow.

Laptop doesn't need to be that good to stream, it's mostly on your internet connection. I'm on a 3 year old Dell laptop and it works just fine in this aspect.

Try it out and see if it works.

Yeah, I have tried it out. Even while its directly connected to my router with high-speed internet. I'm not sure what it is. If push comes to shove I'll have to go with a Roku. Its better than nothing anyway. Thanks so much for the suggestion! I'll try seeing if I can get a better laptop in the future, this one is really really broken to be honest, Constant overheating no matter where I try to place it.

There are laptop coolers out there, but judging from your situation a new laptop might be a good idea. You'll need it for schoolwork anyways.

Personally I find the Roku very reliable despite a dated UI. However, investing in a new laptop might give you the most bang for your buck given you're going off to college, if that's an option for you.

The best experience I had would be with my PS4, then again maybe because I have it connected via ethernet cable rather than Wifi like I have with Chromecast and Amazon Fire Stick (which I recently got for my Birthday).
