So maybe this is just an outlet for my depression for my unemployment, but hear me out.

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you were only left with your life? For example you home and posessions were destroyed and you lost your job. You are given the chance for a clean start doing something new. What do you do?

I am just curious, I find myself taking up a new career as like a truck driver or an train engineer. I would have a 200 sqft apartment where I would sleep on occasion. Otherwise I would find some kind of job where I am on the road 80% to 100% of the year.

What would you do if you were left with nothing and given the chance to start over?

The only thing that important is my PC and I have backups of that. Plus I could always rebuild it and copy the data back over.

I'd go back to where I am now since I spent forever getting here.

That's very similar to what happened to me after my divorce. The ex got the house and 2 of the 3 cars and both the motorcycles. I was given 2 weeks to move out by the judge - I had no job at the time since I was a housewife. My ex was not consistent about paying the alimony he was supposed to and I had to take him back to court 5 times to get him to do what had been agreed upon.

Luckily I had family who were able to help. My parents rented me the house I grew up in - and held off on charging me until I found work although I had to make it up after that. So I had a place to move into, I applied for work like crazy and finally found a job about 6 months after moving back to Maryland. I've managed since then to save up enough to buy my own condo and am slowly rebuilding a life...

I had a lot of friends in Mississippi who were in that kind of situation after Hurricane Katrina as well. They mostly moved in with other relatives until they could get insurance or govt help to rebuild the homes that had been destroyed, and got jobs outside the zone the storm had decimated...some of them are finally beginning to go back to their own homes but a lot of them ended up selling the property and moving to wherever they got jobs after being uprooted by the storm.

My back up dream plan to run away and live in an internet cafe can finally be sealed.

Have you learned nothing from Re:Zero - being able to restart in a new or existing environment does not change who you are.

I would seek help to be able to afford to study then study till i can get a good paying job to live off of.

IF i restarted i would start in a town with jobs unlike my shitty farming town which has a huge unemployment problem.

I pretty much experienced just that through my divorce as well. My son and I were left with nothing. I managed to get a tiny apartment and small truck. I worked my ass off until I could move back closer to family. I truly had almost zero to my name at that time.

I now have a successful career, close family, and mostly just feel a lot better about life. It would be easy to say I wanted adventure, or to travel around the world, etc. But life isn't exactly over, and those things can still happen.
