I've been having this problem for a little while. After searching the forums it seems some people have been having this problem for awhile. I'm learning Japanese so I rewatch anime/dramas a few times trying to catch their words. Anyways while watching Sailor Moon I've had some loud commercial come on. The most annoying is a very loud Korn commercial. It starts out with yelling and guitars/drums.

Something similar seems to be happening on dramas. While watching Mischevious Kiss the commercials start out ok, but then they suddenly become much louder.

In both of these cases I've tried lowering the volume during the commercials or when I think the commercial is coming up, but sometimes I forget. I've quit watching Sailor Moon on Crunchyroll and I'm now watching it on a similar streaming site. I might quit watching anime and dramas altogether on Crunchyroll if this isn't fixed soon.

I would suggest /contacting customer support directly, and letting them know which commercials are exceptionally large. They may be able to pull the ad or adjust the volume.
