Yesterday the app worked fine all day. We watched it for a while, then played some games then wanted to go back to watching some stuff, and when we went to go back to watching, when we clicked on the app, it immediately crashed.

It happened a couple times so we deleted it and tried re downloading it, but it won't let us download it from the store. We go to the Xbox app store, we can click install, and it will have the little "downloading" bar, and the button will change to "Launch" and we can't click it.

We try to access it through the "My Games and Apps" menu but as soon as the Apps menu opens we can see Crunchyroll but it immediately disappears like it deletes itself, and it's like we never installed it. It really isn't there.

We have turned off the external drive, restarted, and tried installing several times. I've gone through the deactivation link and I deactivated everything using my account and it's still not working. I don't even know at this point.

Is this a known issue or is this just us?

Also having the same problem, I have been able to redownload the app after uninstalling it however that only solved the problem the first time. I've also tried everything else I can think of to troubleshoot it. I am currently assuming this is a problem with an app update as it started fairly recently. Since pretty much all of my viewing is done through my Xbox One this is a fairly big issue for me and hope a solution is being developed.

I have been having problems getting Crunchyroll to play on the Xbox one for months. I did the uninstall/reinstall thing and it worked. Finally got more employees, and went to start watching again, and all I get is a black screen on all videos. Do they even support the Xbox 1 app anymore?

So I've found out a couple things some folks might be interested in. (For Xbox one)The critical fault seems to be triggered by adding or deleting things from your queue via the app. Once triggered the app will crash continuously even from a fresh download and/or disabling your system through I count settings etc. I have reproduced the error a decent number of times now and I can say that with relative certainty. I can say that I've reproduced the error because by trial and error I have also discovered a workaround for it. Instead of loading the app from your dashboard/app list. Go to the Xbox one 'one guide' if you have the app installed there should be a line somewhere down the list that has the orange crunchy roll logo and a series of shows to the right of it. All you have to do is select one of those shows, doesn't matter which one, or even if you intend to watch it. The app will then load directly to the show's individual page. Once the show's page is loaded you can back out to the main menu and use the app as you normally would. Keep in mind that if you add/remove a show from your queue the app will immediately crash and you will have to regain access to the app as just described.
This has worked for me 100% of the time since I found it, I can't promise that it will necessarily work for anybody else. Good luck.

The programming on the Xbox One and Android TV apps is extremely shoddy, and they will break outright if your queue gets too large. I'm not sure exactly how large; I feel like it stopped working for mine at probably between 50 and 75 entries. It's been this way for months—there's even an article in the knowledge base about it—so one would hope they'll get around to fixing it eventually. I sympathize. It's very inconvenient.
