Hey I was just wondering if anybody was from New York and wanted a new friend. Or if you know a place where I can meet people that is a low stress environment.

I live a few hours outside the city. However, I would advise you to try a meetup website or something. I know there are plenty of board game, anime and sports groups around a city. Choose a hobby and go out and introduce yourself, one of the best cities in the world to meet fellow young people.

I live in the suburbs and people just get old and have babies here so I wish I were in your place

why do people say Pokémon GO as if it's the only way to meet new people

@OP Add me to friends list and next time I'm bored wandering around the city you'd could definitely hit me up.
In the meantime highly recommend the maid café over in China town and the Japanese bookstore near grand central.

By the way there is a new anime Con in the city, might as well check It out. I'm off to another one so I regret to say I won't be attending.

What borough are you living in? They're all so diverse. I've spent a fair amount of time in both Brooklyn & Manhattan. Williamsburg & East Harlem respectively. I love New York City. I thought I was destined to live there, but now I'm feeling pretty content with moving to Grand Rapids. Mid-West cities are great, because they preserve and retain their personality; something that's lost in a great metropolis. Plus. holy fucking SHITFIST... NYC is absurdly expensive. I just couldn't afford to stay out there. My friend Tim is an architect in Brooklyn, making what would definitely be considered very good money. But in Williamsburg, he was only able to afford a semi-modest two bedroom apartment, which he split costs with his roommate. If he were making that pay in West Michigan, he could have a nice house on the lake. I'm assuming you're in, at the very least, a fairly well-off financial situation. Go to the many bars, man. I went out and played a few shows around Brooklyn & Manhattan (including at 'The Bitter End'), and I made so many new friends. The city never sleeps. If you go out to a few bars, even alone, and have even a trace of personalty, you will make some friends. And maybe even get laid.

If you're in Midtown, check out Book Off or Books Kinokuniya. You can also check out Koreatown around West 32nd St, but it's only like a block long, that's all I got
