Let me know if a thread like this one exist or not.
Thanks a bunches.

This is bad! I can't seem to stop myself from sticking to one plot! I keep coming up with different stories when I was suppose to stick to one. But I can not help it. I just get an idea and I have to write about it. Sometimes I don't even write I just plan. Is it normal to be this way? I'm working on five stories when I should really focus on the one story. I lied and said I was going to work on the 59 short stories but I knew that wasn't happening. If I keep this up I will never get to my goal. I just want to focus on one story at a time not ten stories all at once. I tend to procrastinate and lack the motivation to write but my ideas never stop forming. I'm really in a pickle as what to do. I'm sure you people witness it on this forum section. All of my past threads and the ones I made now can be combined to make one story. I just need to stop coming up with so many ideas for a bunch of stories and focus on one idea. What do you think? Does it sound like I am complaining or what? It doesn't help that I am very lazy. *sigh* I swear I need to change sooner than later. So any thoughts on this? I somewhat feel like this thread is a waste of time for it might just happen again.

Enjoy!!!

Concentration is a skill that needs to be practiced. No one is born with it. It's a habit.

This isn't really something other people can help you with. Its a matter of willpower. Its really hard to write a book. It takes a ton of time and dedication. Others can help you make your writing better, but the actual task of writing is on you.

Do yourself a favor... like seriously do this. IF you choose not to, well, that Is your choice. This is meant for perspective.

I don't care how you do it. Watch the first season of spice and wolf with English dub. Really watch it, just sit down and watch it. If there is one story I can thank for how I allow my characters to interact and live within the world, it would be from doing this.

How I can give my characters such a life and past while completely focusing on the story at hand, watch Fate Zero with English sub. This provided me with focus.

You want help with your writing? Nobody can help you. When I started to write, do you know how awful my first draught was? I literally cringed when I read through it, but that didn't stop me, it literally took me over a year just to finally finish 1 chapter, and through all of my self improvements that no teaching could ever provide me with, I actually wrote something worth while. Nobody helped me, nobody pushed me to write it, nobody even knew I was writing it, but in my heart I knew that every time I wrote my story, things changed, things popped in my head without question, and clarity soon followed, maybe not the best, but good enough to finally understand mind to paper.

You want all the answers, but you haven't even started to envision your worth behind your words. Relax! Breathe, this is all you need to do. Go outside and just walk, sit down somewhere and just appreciate something you can look at, or hear in that moment, stop thinking about it, just predict it.

Stop asking people if your ideas are good. You know what I did? I didn't care if people looked, I just cared about putting something out, because I knew my ideas were great, I knew they deserved the nuture and care to make them into amazing stories

Sure it feels good to get feed back, but it feels even better to accomplish something knowing you put blood sweat and tears into it, dedication only for your dreams and goals.

I do not claim to be knowledgeable, but if there is one thing I do know, that would be my right from my left, where to start, and where to end.... the hardest part is the in between, the process of getting to your destination. Only you yourself can claim glory, and one day the followers to finally respect the path you have taken.

Why stick to one plot? Try to interconnect them maybe? Create a whole universe! Thats what i do.

Write all the plots!

I sympathize with you. Because when I write something, I have one plot in mind originally and then fifty million ideas come at me suddenly.

ME! Seriously I started with one idea about four years ago and it started to develop into something more than just one little story. I really liked the characters I created and continued to use them to practice my writing. Then about two years ago I decided to make an actual story out of them with heavy inspiration from series like RWBY and Raildex. Nothing concrete for it sadly because I keep thinking of stuff that I think improves the world. I hate my creative though process.

This happened more recently on the fanfiction project I've been working on:

Wanted to pair my MC with one character, wound up liking how MC reacted to another and now I keep flip flopping.

Stop being me. The same thing happened with some of my characters. I originally planned to pair the MC with one character and then I thought about how she'd react with another character so now they're a temporary pair but I plan on ending it with the original pairings.

Sounds like your writing short stories to me. There isn't anything wrong with that.

I feel for you. My mind is also a factory of endless ideas and it is tough to sit through and finish one. But I must point out what Humms has already said. I'd take his advice.

Practice, practice, practice! Though, while many persevered alone, everyone is different. Perhaps you need someone to bounce your ideas off of? I've done that just as often as working through my mental blocks alone. Just keep at it!

Do you have some sort of deadline for writing? You don't have to write one story straight from beginning to end. Just work on what comes to you then get back to your main project.
