The recent chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:Re make me

And in this season, Taboo Tattoo is a bad Seinen. Can it even be labeled as Seinen?

Seinen and Josei just tend to resonate with less of the anime viewing community. The common viewing demographic of anime are generally younger people, whom shounen and shoujo are targeted at. Seinen and Josei won't die, and I think as the demographic ages (assuming they continue to watch anime) seinen and josei will likely see a bit of a surge in popularity.

you know the funny thing is that almost half of the Shounen Jump readership are adults ( i am also apart of that half)

Do you mean in the US or in Japan?

In Japan. The company that publishes shounen jump released their readership data to the public.

Censorship plays a big factor on Manga being made. If you have a R rated manga they can't really show that on TV therefore it wont make as much money as a popular kiddy show.

Josei ain't dead. Just doesn't sell in the states as much as shonen does.

Truth. Plus josei manga tend to be adapted into live-action movie or serial TV instead of anime. That's why you don't see many josei anime.

As for seinen anime, of course there's a future. There will be One Punch Man season 2 and The Laughing Salesman. Also Maid Dragon is a seinen anime.

Ah... this make me remember Terra Formars censorship.

of course, even some of the generic ones are actually seinen

Like asterisk war, World break aria, Unlimited Fafnir, Bladedance of Elementalers, Absolute Duo.
(btw seen all of em and love em, I have a thing for generic style anime)

this season we have Tanya the Evil and Dragon-maid as popular seinen

And The saga of Tanya the evil is one of my favorites this season, it's so much fun to watch. Love Tanya.

Its all about the $.

I don't know how all this works in terms of TV viewership, ad revenue etc, but I doubt it is kids buying all the $100+ figures and bluray sets.

I hope for more seinen anime. All my friends prefer shonen so I don't really know of many new shows I can discuss with them.

Seinen will definitely never be as popular as shounen. While adult fans are on the rise the majority of anime fans are still teenage and younger boys. However, seinen is definitely still producing good series some recent examples could be Kisejuu, Baccano, Mushishi, Ping Pong the Animation, and 3-gatsu no Lion. I do not think it will be dying anytime soon.

Josei is pretty much a dead demographic and Shounen rules the entire anime and manga industry but what about Seinen? Will Seinen ever be as popular as Shounen? I thought with the increase of adult anime/manga fans there would be an increase in Seinen tittles but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I've been waiting for Monster part 2 for long time.. What happen to it? If they ever make and release part 2, I'll probably have to watch part 1 again.. its been many years. >.<
