GPS spoofing gets you banned, so don't do it. Whether if its a softban or a hardban, a ban is a ban.

Just play it whenever you need to go out. I'm not really going out of my way to play it and I'm almost level 22. And no, I don't live in an urban area.

Well, you can have Pokemon battle player vs player on the street, but I agree some people probably don't want their location exposed

PvP is not in the game yet.

There are gym battles, but that's not exactly PvP.

I'd like the idea to train the Pokemon and raise their CP, my first Pokemon is still CP11 = =, the lower CP Pokemon have only one purpose, trade in for candy

It's the developers own damn fault for using something as unreliable as GPS. For crying out loud even the military still hasn't got that shit working a 100%.

Ah that one problem with where I live if you wanna go anywhere you have to drive, however there are pieces of city than you can walk around for stores. For example though to get to a good mall you have to drive like 30 miles across the Mississippi River.
you're not gonna be walking to the Mall unless you live next too it.
It work better for my brother as he lives in a spot right next to town so he can walk to everything.

I wish this had come out years ago when I lived in my old Apartment town was 4 miles away and I walked there everynight instead of using gas.

the "GO" kind of means you move around
and there's the older pokemon games where you can use analog sticks / navigation keys to move

I can afford to be a little lazy while playing. There's a Buddhist temple next door and it's a Pokestop in range of my room. Stay at home a few hours to stock up and then go out and catch Pokemon.

Best way to play is to drive to a local park (one that is considered a park in Google maps). And just walk around. Most good parks have at least a few pokestops and gyms.

Don't go alone unless you know the area well.

Just an FYI here, I believe you can get an emulator and play it on PC. I read there's some program you can use to trick the game into thinking your geographic location is actually changing, but really you just use a mouse or keyboard or something along those lines.

Couldn't tell ya what they're called but I bet it's easy if you use Google. I'd figure it out and tell you, but I'm probably lazier than you are (when I'm not at work) and I'm just not interested enough in the game to figure out those kinds of technicalities.

There called cheats
And they can get your account banned :3

Time to hunt for the GBA titles...

You probably have your 'Location' setting wrong on your phone. You want it on High Accuracy

I'm sure it's against their terms of service. But if someone is set on playing Pokemon Go and NOT exercising, that's a risk theyll have to take. Of course it's "cheating" lol. If you can call it that, in a game like this.

In my opinion it takes away the entire point of the game, which is to exercise. This solution is obviously for the people that "must" play no matter what and are either too lazy to actually do it or don't have a smart phone.

Playing this game without actually going outside sounds like the most boring game of Pokemon ever played. I'll stick to the Gameboy / DS pokemon games if I want that.

Not to mention they're better games, with plot and scripted events and all that video game standard. I get the appeal of Pokemon Go, but it doesn't really qualify as the same kind of gaming experience to me.

If I had to define the genre, I'd throw it in the "time waster" category, like pretty much all smart-phone games. Exercise isn't exactly a waste of time either...!

It may not be.

But it is kind of sad it's servers as a reason people go outside.

I don't know about the US, but in Tokyo, Pokemon Go has ruined everything. The cave dwellers from every corner have come out so the visible population has tripled, and the already overcrowded city has turned into zombie town. The local park is now infested with Pokemon trainers every night until morning, to the point where people started setting up tents. Parks are no longer what they used to be.
