Non Non Biyori. The characters and their interactions are all believable, likeable, and cute without a hint of 'moe' or affectation, and the storytelling, art, setting, and music complements them perfectly. A definite 10/10 show in every department.

Not really. I mean, imouto literally means "little sister," but the Japanese culture seems to regard all kinds of people as sisters and brothers whether they are in the same family or not. It's like a damn blaxploitation film over there, and I can only assume that white people don't actually understand it as well as we think. ;)


Not only the Japanese use brothers and sisters for more than blood relatives. But I do agree that unless a foreigner was immersed early in Japanese culture there will be gaps and misunderstandings in knowledge. I think for me that to avoid grave social mistakes in etiquette would be best. YMMV.
