Hi everyone, I'm Dave. I'm new to this site but I've been watching anime for a few years now. I feel like I've found a great platform to watch anime, but there's so many to choose from haha Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could give me some recommendations. I like sci-fi type stuff, mystery, realistic action etc. I'm not too much into romantic or slice-of-life animes.

Maybe you should watch:

- Corpse Party: Tortured Souls - Bougyakusareta Tamashii no Jukyou

and

- Owari No Seraph

All of these are on Crunchy Roll:

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (supposedly coming soon to CR) -- Sci-fi/fantasy hybrid, action, adventure
Beautiful Bones -- Mystery
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works -- Fantasy, action
Gargantia of the Verderous Planet -- Sci-fi, some action
Strike the Blood -- Sci-fi/fantasy hybrid, action.

Also, while I haven't seen them yet, both Parasyte (sci-fi/horror) and Erased (sci-fi, mystery) get excellent reviews.

Not on CR:
Steins; Gate (sci-fi)
Trigun (steam punk action)
Serial Experiments Lain (sci-fi)

I'm just going to ramble off some notable's here...

Fate / Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works - because it's just so great.

Kill la Kill for it's crazyness... that's an understatement but it's thoroughly enjoyable and you'll find nothing crazier.

Hunter x Hunter is also a must if you've not watched it. It's so good... so so good.

And if you're feeling daring, watch Gintama. The serious parts are serious, the comedy is good and it's the anime that opened up my tastes to include almost all genre's of anime. The first season is by far the worst, and it only gets better and better... seriously, once you've watched through it now and again for the comedy - and then they hit you with some heavy stuff, it certainly has a lot of impact... it blindsides you.

Oh yeah, welcome to CR Dave! You came to the right place.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to start watching these as soon as possible. Hmm, let's see, Boku no Pico seems like a good start.
