Um, it should be free, except for major surgeries and cancer treatment. Why hasn't the world figured this out?

I break my arm, I go to the hospital, give them my health card, get the care needed, and sent on my way free of charge. Just like getting stitches, or getting a tetanus shot, cat scans, check ups, this should be free of charge, these things should be offered to citizens of any country free of charge, if you're going under the knife for anything serious, be prepared to pay for it since this is in the hands of the professionals who put your life on the line for their knowledge.

We shouldn't have to pay for something to help us in a time of uncertainty, but life doesn't work out that way. The bare minimum should be covered, anything beyond broken bones and serious wounds, good luck, and that is what everyone will tell you. The sad truth.

You see a limited number of doctors exist! The pure amount of debt it takes and skill to be a decent doctor coupled with the low numbers of those who can treat and you can see the wealthy folks problem! They pay to play much as the system has been set up! So please military spending is where it's at and forget the veterans health care while there at it! ah congress and senate both with lowest approval rates nation wide at 11% but a re election rate of 97%! No folks nothing to see here!

They should raise taxes on healthcare Inusrance providers and at the end of every year the You should have the Option to Claim your Health Care Insurance Payments ( from your bi-weekly checks Not your medical payments) On your taxes to be refunded. ONLY THOSE who actually pay for their health Insurance should have this option. people getting free healthcare are not entitled to claiming money they don't spend.

And Anyone saying Healthcare should be free, let me ask you this. Who will pay the hospitals and Doctors and Surgeons for their work?? Government?? Where will Government get the money??? Taxes??? theyll take more from your check. Print more money?? Talk about depreciation of the $ and Inflation of Cost of living. IT would be great if it could be implemented like it is in Canada but seriously though, WE as a country are not in any position to offer anything like it. Our $ is already quickly becoming worthless because everyone demands More money and less taxes, Which means less money in the Government, which leads to More debt, and More printing. If people don't like it. then people need to STOP VOTING FOR THE SAME ASSHOLES over and over again, STOP feeding into the whole You can only vote democratic or republican party bullshit. And STOP VOTING for the lesser of two evils and Start voting for what matters. WE as a people have noone to blame but ourselves. We need to stop blaming government and start blaming ourselves because WE give government the power and postion and WE support them. So If you want this country to change, STOP supporting the Bullshit. Maybe in 50 or 100 years it'll happen, But you can forget it in your lifetime.

The real problem is the cost of everything in the medical field and how there is little to no regulation at all. If they want to charge you for every alcohol prep pad(7$ per pad) they use on you they will. 70$ for a box of gauze they used on you (5$ at a store) the list goes on and on it makes me sick. One time use disposable bodily fluid containers costing over 400$ the list goes on on and but here is an article with real people and their medical bills to show the insanity of the amount of charges they slap on a hospital bill.

To be honest, I have mixed feeling on the subject. A part of me feels it should be free because it doesn't seem fair to pay loads of money for a serious injury. While the other part of me feels like they should at least lower the price of healthcare for the people who can not afford. Making it free would be some sort of pipe dream. To be honest, I really don't know what side to lean towards.

I've only lived in countries where healthcare is free from the point of access (technically nothing is free since the populace pays for it via taxes). I wouldn't know what it would be like to live in a place where your very health can end up bankrupting you. Our healthcare pays less for things like an asprin than what the USA would pay for an asprin. Our service isn't perfect because there are waiting times and sometimes rationing to contend with but it exists. We've got a set price for prescribed medicines. it's £8.40 per medicine ($10.95 us). Once you're a working adult who doesn't have certain long term conditions like diabetes, then you pay this cost.

Even when I was in the Caribbean we had health care available. From place to place there is concern over quality of care and some services being overwhelmed but it exists. You had to pay for medicines and equipment used on a patient but the skilled labour, facilities and accommodation was covered via taxes. That meant when uncle got in a car accident and crushed an arm, they operated to save his arm. They had to transplant a nerve from his leg to his arm. Grandmother didn't have to worry about keeping private medical insurance. They didn't have to make the choice to amputate because that would be cheaper. The surgeons were amazed and relieved that the operation was a success.

I'd think private healthcare insurance costs would be huge for my family just because of the history of allergies, two have to walk around with epi-pens.

If a population has the will to make healthcare costs fit within their usual tax funding then it can work.

Absolutely.

You know what sucks? Going to the ER because you can't afford a doctor, finding out you've got shingles (which is the suck, by the way), him writing you prescriptions for pain meds and steroids....but you can't afford the $150 to get them. But, hey, that medical bill on your credit report isn't going away.

So.... yeah, currently have shingles. I hate my life in this moment.

Everyone debates healthcare till they're at the receiving end of the shitty stick. Free Healthcare is needed, there are probably millions of examples of people ending in debt from hospital bills. Our bureaucracy is a piece of shit. It's like, if you're poor, you're fucked.

That what bother me is that when I get MRI or other machine like Bone Crusher (laser surgery on Kidney stone) On the Bill it show lot of money just for using those machine! I understand that Hostipal need money in order to pay the monthly fee on them.. But I think Government should give helping hand on that part. I think Insureance should paid 95% of the machine fee when patient use them, and 5% we pay.. even it seem low but there millions of patient coming in and out of that Hostipal to use those fancy equipment.. It should take care of the bill easily.

Its bad for the economy to be healthy.

If it wasn't for healthcare, I would been dead by now.. When I start seeing Doctors every few month due to constantly getting Kidney stones, having Diabetes, Grown in toe nail.. Many problems.. Now I'm taking lot of Meds like 80 year old do.. You would be amazed how many Bottles I got to take all that med. >.<

Wow.
Doesnt sound very good.

Btw my text was a joke, i just wanted to add something xD. I aint against any healthcare.

I hope you will succeed in having a good time, Mr. Roman Senator!

-shrugs- not even Senator have power! I recall reading that the reason our current president Obmana (spelling) support free healthcare is because his Grandmother (White) couldn't get medical/Care because the Insurance wouldn't pay for them at that time.. She couldn't afford them.. So she died from having health problem, that why President is trying to help us out with Health Care.. See back he used to be Senator and doesn't even have power to make them give his grandmother free healthcare at that time.

Reason I said she white (not being racist) is because majority people believed that Black people instantly get turned down, even White patient get turned down.. Its not true.. Its ALL race.. Its those damn greedy insureance and Hostpol.

Yes, we should have socialized healthcare.

Taxes only marginally go up once socialized healthcare is implemented. Almost every western country on the planet has it while America does not.

We already have socialized services, post office, firefighters, police, military, etc...we should have healthcare be apart of that as well.

It's not a luxury to get treatment for an illness. It's a human right. It's inhumane to say 'if you cannot afford it, you should just die.' We give out free food to the god damn homeless who refuse to get jobs. Yet, someone who has a job but cannot afford healthcare is somehow his fault?

You guys/ladies remember back in the old day, people don't believed in going to Doctor even if they get sick.. I remember my father told me the Doctor will rip you off and prescribe you unnessary cough med just to get you pay more.. XD I recall he haven't seen doctor for like nearly 50 years.. Even when his teeth was hurting bad..

Wanna know how he deal with pain? By drinking lot of Whiskey.. He drank LOT. Till he finally got the free health care he went to the dentist and got some of his teeth pulled.. He was so happy that it finally pain free, this even put smile on his face haha. Heck he even steal my pain med because his teeth was hurting so bad XD, this is when I had Kidney stone! -_-;
