If someone says he's got answers for life, universe, and everything, run. It's snake-oil of highest degree.

Now if someone says he has a theory on it, then we can talk. ;)

So... I have this theory: what if the "soul" is a form of energy that returns to an intangible pool when living things die, and from that pool the souls for new things is drawn--thus everything in existence being a metaphorical "suicide mix" of other things?

Now I feel dirty inside

Why?

It's just as valid as the next unsubstantiated theory. Point is that if ready answers existed, human existence would quickly become boring. And anyone trying to sell you one, is only ever peddling their own agenda, and you should run.

Part of me does wish tho that such things existed, that I could wake up content knowing that this higher entity has my back, and I've got no agency, nothing I need to do, and everything that happens, happens because of this thing.

It'd actually be kinda blissful, so I can see why it'd appeal to people.

In case anyone would like to know Why I believe in God.. here is my story.

a little over a year ago, an internet forum came down on me and my struggling little guitar business with a violent vengeance.
I got called every name in the book, and its permanent, you can still read it all today.

it was not all fact... a great deal of it was spun horribly out of control until it didn't even resemble anything near the truth...
but there was just enough truth in it that it snowballed, until clients began making credit card chargebacks on their deposits, or asking for cash refunds that amounted to almost $20,000.00 in just a few HOURS after it began.
I paid out everything I had. I was dead broke in 12 hours. and my bank accounts were negative by thousands in 24 hours.

I lost my house, my truck, my wifes car, and finally my wife. yep she bailed when I needed her most and after 25 years of marriage and caring for her ( she has a long term illness that required lots of meds and doctor visits which I stayed with her through for 17+ years...

I almost lost my only source of income, ( my shop and tools)

needless to say everything I worked 36 years for, was gone in less than 24 hours. with nothing but months worth of pay back ahead of me. and my reputation in shambles.. food became a luxury real fast.

thoughts of ropes and rafters filled my head for weeks. at one point I climbed up and tested the idea.

But something that I can ONLY describe as God.. ( a calm small voice) came and showed me something that I had not thought of before.

and suddenly, my life restarted. and over the next 6 months, I paid all that debt off. 100%.. I'm not even completely sure how?!
I even bought a used truck and began to rebuild my business,

Even after all that nasty stuff was posted on the web about me... my new shop venture gained by leaps and bounds, and it seemed that almost overnight I was working hard and gaining ground on my debts..
Now a year and 4 months later. I'm back in black ink. my shop has expanded, We have opened a new retail shop next door, and I have an employee now and my credit is being rebuilt.

the funny thing is, if you asked me the details of what happened.. its all sounds so simple.. like anyone could have done the same thing..

yet, if you asked me Precisely HOW it occurred and I told you the Events IN Chronological order... THEN you would see that unpredictable things happened that had no reason to, and never had happened in 36 years of doing the same job..
ALL of them were unprecedented in nature. and its all on the internet in irrefutable time date stamped proof.

Those are the miracles that God does. and you CAN see them... but you have to open your eyes to notice them. and you have to take them seriously. you cant' brush things off as coincidence or happenstance..

I once saw an episode of Futurama where Bender was floating out in space and became a "god" himself to a race of people living on his body. Later on he meets "God" and the last thing God says to him is..

your doing it right when no one knows you ever did anything at all.

that is the best clue I can give anyone as to how to look for His miracles. they are there and they defy the laws of nature.
just very subtly.

Honestly, what with priorities and all, the first thing I'll be concerned about is finding out if god is actually an old guy with a beard. If not then I'll just be sort of disappointed, probably. If he exists and all then yeah, all right, I just really want him to have a beard.

I would simply feel that if he/she/it was "all-knowing" then they would understand why I wasn't a believer. Because humans corrupt everything....

If a lack of belief in life would condemn an otherwise decent person, then I want nothing to do with that god regardless of where they're inclined to send me.

If that god cares more about whether you were a good person or not than what religion (if any) you bought into, then I probably won't mind getting to know them in death.

Ultimately, I'll worry about it when I'm dead - unless there's no afterlife, in which case I couldn't worry if I wanted to.

If he does exist I demand that he let me speak with the one who created him.

I'd be like, "Well I'm already dead. But still going to stay agnostic. Too bad those fuckers on Earth will never know until they die either." xD I'd sit with the god(s)/goddess(es), pull up a chair, and eat some popcorn while watching the entertainment that is the human race lol

I'll finally get to confirm a truth of the universe and be sent to hell. Once I've reached my destination of damnation, I'll most likely have to sit through screenings of Flash Gordon on repeat. But at least the parts with Queen singing will be decent.

I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.
Thats a rock song lyric you don't know, sorry. I know religious types aren't allowed to listen to Satanic music.

Not surprised. Kaguya is my God, not all those false ones everyone goes on about.

I am not a very religious person and find myself very rarely expressing faith. But if I were to find out there was a God I honestly would just say "huh" guess i was wrong or right (depending on whose the god). Either way, a God is a god, I wouldn't freak out because Thor runs the world.
