To say transgender is a mental illness is to say it can and should be repaired. First of all, it can't be repaired with just some therapy and some pills.
Second of all, perhaps in the future there will be a way to rewire the brain, but this raised ethical questions as to the merits of this subjugation of the human brain to meet normality.

True, transgenders may never be born real women or real men, but at this rate, I'd expect in 20 years for the difference to be quite negligible. Who knows, we might have vagina transplants available in the next 50 years.

The obsession we have with facing reality has ironically caused us to ignore facts on what transgenders are and what makes them happy. Watch Lars and the Real Girl. This obsession with enforcing the red pill of reality on everyone and everything is idiotic. Honestly? I don't really care if I am in a stall or urinal next to a transgender woman or man. I, for one, can poop anywhere. Well, except for this.

That doesn't really address the argument I put forth though. The usual response was that political efforts have been made within the APA and such to declassify transgenders, or in your case, psychology is a science wrecked with social irresponsibility to fact due to an underlying bias or susceptibility to a mobocracy.

Can't argue with psychology being a wrecked science where bias is VERY easy to do. If you want a republican outcome do tests in republican heavy state, same with democrats.

Btw I wasn't entirely trolling with that post. There are "cats living in a human body" around and some of them even do surgery to get whiskers and everything. They are "trans" as well.

I'm not entirely sure of the mental health associated with that tbh. Though from personal experience, I believe trans-age is probably a mental illness arising from a stress over some "lost" childhood or something. Needless to say, I tried everything, than had to accept that, yes, I am not a child anymore.

It kind of hurts though, so the girl trying to be infant has my sympathies more than anything.

Why would you want to be a kid again? The only plus side was you could play games all the time but you had to waste your time going to school or dealing with people at school.

Now I have the money to eat what I want, I can do what I want, and learn what I want. I don't miss being a child one bit.
