**UPDATES for August 20/16**

-Raw will be live from the Barclays Center on Monday night.

Smackdown will be Tuesday night from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.

-In an interview with Sam Roberts at Friday night’s WWE 2K17 press event in New York City, Brock Lesnar cut a profanity laced promo on Conor McGregor (clearly designed for business) and has been picked up everywhere such at

McGregor began a war of words with the WWE roster earlier this month at the UFC 202 media conference call when he called most wrestlers and later tweeted that he’d “slap the head off” the entire WWE roster.

Many wrestlers responded to the comments, and McGregor seemed to revel in getting his desired reaction from them when he later called the roster a bunch of dweebs.

But it was comments McGregor made about Lesnar that the Beast didn’t take kindly to. McGregor previously said that he credited Lesnar for getting in the Octagon and fighting, but he was “juiced up” so he ultimately couldn’t respect him.

Seth Rollins also talked about McGregor’s comments on ESPN’s First Take yesterday, saying that McGregor was trying to get as many eyes on his fight at UFC 202 as possible.

-Eva Marie released a statement to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet regarding her wellness policy violation. Marie told the website:

"I am disappointed that this suspension has occurred, yet understand and respect that WWE upholds their Wellness Policy to the letter and won’t compromise on its integrity. I violated policy by not turning in portions of required paperwork in the time frame WWE Medical deemed timely. I look forward to my return! Thank you for your support."

TMZ reported that the substance in question was Adderall.

-Joey Styles made his first appearance on commentary since being released by the WWE at today’s EVOLVE show in Brooklyn. Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, and Tyler Breeze also were in the crowd for the show but not shown on camera.

-Topps announced today new WWE Topps Now cards. They do these cards for MLB, UFC, and MLS currently. When an event worthy of a card happens, it goes on sale the next day and remains on sale for 24 hours. After 24 hours it is no longer available and Topps will announce how many are sold, thus making the print run public. The print runs on the MLB cards usually fall in the 300 to 1000 range with several falling outside that range as well. MLS runs have been in the 75 to 250 range while UFC has been in the 85 to 320 range. UFC Topps Now went live with UFC 200, continued at UFC 201, and will have cards as a result of UFC 202 as well.

**UPDATES for August 21/16**

-In a new ad that aired first on the Kickoff show the WWE announced some new WWE shows:

-WWE Story Time an animated show coming in November
-Holy Foley debuting after SummerSlam

They also promoted their existing shows Ride Along, Talking Smack, The Stone Cold Podcast and WWE 24.
They said that 19 PPVs will air from now on in a calendar year as well as they started promoting the brand-specific PPVs.

-A story at explains about Michael Jordan branded violinist Lee England Jr. who played Shinsuke Nakamura's theme at NXT Takeover.

-Triple H did a Facebook interview after NXT Takeover and also posted online the following:

"#NXTTakeOver: Back to Brooklyn:

The highest grossing..
The most attended..
The most watched #NXTTakeover in history..

#ThankYou #WeAreNXT"

-Word is that woman wrestler Crazy Mary Dobson has inked a deal with WWE and will be heading to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando soon. The new wrestler Sanity in NXT is believed to be Crazy Mary Dobson.

-The Undefeated has a big story on the impact that New Day has had in the WWE, wrestling’s racial history and all three members of New Day being interviewed for the piece.

-Olympic silver medalist Jaime Espinal of Puerto Rico says that he has received an “interesting” offer from the WWE. Gerald Brisco has been in Rio de Janeiro on behalf of the WWE and is scouting talent at the games.

-GQ has a big feature on the WWE’s women division and spoke with Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Becky Lynch among the changing women’s landscape in the company.

-During the Takeover special, it was announced that NXT will be going on tour in Australia and New Zealand from December 5th – 15th with the following dates announced with tickets going on sale on September 5th:

*December 5th in Auckland, New Zealand at the Trusts Arena
*December 6th in Wellington, New Zealand at the TBS Bank Arena
*December 8th in Melbourne, Australia at Margaret Court Arena
*December 10th in Newcastle at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre
*December 11th in Gold Coast at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Center
*December 13th in Sydney at the Qudos Bank Arena
*December 14th in Canberra at the AIS Arena
*December 15th in Perth at the HBF Arena

-Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton is scheduled to go last, with rumours suggesting either Bray Wyatt or Goldberg, both present at the location, could cost one of them the match. Lesnar is a 23-to-1 favorite. Other odds just prior to the show include: Ambrose is a 12-to-1 favorite to win, Balor is a 15-to-1 favorite to became the first champion, since Cena has other commitments and got a pin over Styles on the last PPV, Styles is a 15-to-1 favorite here, Rusev is a 15-to-1 favorite, Charlotte is a 10 1/2-to-1 favorite to win, Anderson & Gallows are 17-to-1 favorites tonight, Miz is at -750 (7 1/2 to one favorite) to retain the title, Jericho & Owens are 15-to-1 favorites to win, the heel team are 15-to-1 favorites for the SmackDown 6 women tag match despite having Eva Marie removed from the match due to suspension but hinting a surprise entrant who would have to come from NXT or from outside the company, Sheamus is the 12-to-1 favorite, Zayn & Neville are 20-to-1 favorites and the face 12 person SmackDown team are 20-to-1 favorites.

-Despite presenting a trophy for the winner of the Cruiserweight Classic, which was created by the guys at Orange County Chopper, there is still talks of making a new Cruiserweight Championship Belt for Raw either to the winner of the tournament or in another match to come.

-The impression is that Samoa Joe was not injured last night and it was just storyline.

-Nikki Bella is in town, although that wouldn't be a surprise either way. But she is slated for the SmackDown brand and has been cleared and there is an open spot with Eva Marie suspended. Bayley could also easily debut in that spot and it would garner a tremendous reaction. The problem is that it's a heel side so it makes no sense for Bayley and Nikki is likely to get a face reaction for her comeback.

-As far as weekend trends go, here were the numbers as of press time:

UFC 202 (5 million searches) - Even with the Olympics, nothing else this weekend has topped 1 million, Frank Ocean, Angelina Jolie and NASCAR were at 500,000
CM Punk (50,000 searches) - He was heavily promoted last night on the PPV which did huge numbers most likely.
SummerSlam (50,000 searches) - Brock Lesnar the most searched name on the show.

-Stephanie McMahon's new autobiography that comes out next month will be called "unREAL!"

-Since they are taping the Cruiserweight tournament later this week, most of the competitors are in the U.S. and many were brought to TakeOver last night. Many were shown on camera and others were backstage.

-Daniel Bryan on Conor McGregor:

"I can't imagine caring about what Conor McGregor says about anything. It's the same guy who said he retired on Twitter just to get a rise out of people. There's a lot of awesome stuff going on like the Olympics and he's out there trying to promote a fight. So I get it, but it doesn't affect me one way or another. There's been better people than him insulting wrestlers for years."

-They taped two matches before the Takeover show started last night, with Tye Dillinger over Beautiful Blond Blake. Dillinger was really over as you'd expect. The Authors of Pain destroyed TM 61. Paul Ellering was with the AOP.

-Filling in for the suspended Eva Marie, Nikki Bella made her return to the ring on Sunday night at SummerSlam.

Marie was pulled from the scheduled six-woman tag team match featuring SmackDown’s women’s division after her 30-day suspension for a wellness policy violation was announced last Thursday. The match was then briefly advertised as a handicap match, but teased that it was possible a replacement partner could be found in time for SummerSlam.

Continuing the ongoing storyline of Marie finding excuses not to wrestle, the reason given for her not being on the show was that she was on vacation in the British Isles after suffering from exhaustion and anxiety caused by hostile WWE fans.

Bella teamed with Natalya and Alexa Bliss to defeat Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Carmella. She picked up the win for her team after pinning Carmella.

Bella received a strong reaction from the crowd upon her return, and it seems like she will be added to the SmackDown roster imminently. She had been out of action since October 2015 after suffering a neck injury.

After a lengthy absence, Bella had been teasing that she was preparing for a comeback recently.

-They showed the Dolph Ziggler/Miz KFC commercial with Miz in a chicken outfit and Ziggler in a Col. Sanders mask and wig.

-The new Universal Champion Finn Balor and the WWE Women's Champion Charlotte will appear on Good Morning America prior to Raw on Monday.

-Promotion began for the return of Total Divas on E! It will return on October 5.

-Some of the segments from SummerSlam have been picked up by other sports media:

*Jon Stewart's involvement
*Charlotte winning back the WWE Women's Championship
*AJ Styles beating John Cena
*Nikki Bella's return
*Finn Balor becomes the first ever Universal Champion
*Brock Lesnar beating Randy Orton to a bloody TKO finish

Also to continue their push of the joint deal with the WWE, ESPN's page at has a lot of footage too.

-It seems most of the finish to Brock Lesnar/Randy Orton was not planned exactly as it went. While the WWE banned head chairshots and blading, Lesnar elbowing to open Orton hardway wasn't a good plan if that was the case to Orton who has concussion history. Lesnar also kept going back to hit with the elbows too even as doctors and referees checked on Orton. The WWE wanted blood despite their own rules but this was overkill beyond just if it was PG or not.

Expect a kayfabe suspension due to this so to conserve his contract matches left which are low. If there is a rematch it would have to wait to the Royal Rumble at the earliest.

-Sasha Banks has been pulled out of house shows for 30 days causing speculation it's either from injuries from the match, an injury going into the match as she's had a string of injuries, or even a dreaded suspension due to a Violation of the Wellness Policy, Note for the latter case there has already been 3 suspensions to Alberto Del Rio, Paige and Eva Marie. Something's changed with the sudden rash of them, possibly due to Brock's situation where they couldn't suspend him due to their own part-timer rules so they went after the rest of the roster to justify the Policy works.

Another oddity is announcing Del Rio and Paige's suspensions a day after announcing them compared to Eva Marie's suspension being right away. As for Total Divas there is no response on if the suspension extends to that with the October return of the show. Both Paige and Eva Marie are on the show and it could be worked into the show now by E!

-Filming of American Grit Season 2 will keep John Cena off the WWE TV hence the loss to AJ Styles and leaving the wristbands in the ring post match that was made evident by the announce crew. reported that Randy Orton needed 10 staples in his head to close up the gash caused by the elbows of Brock Lesnar.

Come back during the big weekend for the news here, so don't 'cha dare miss it!
