What a contradiction: the U.S. citizen support lethal gun violence against police oppression but they criticize non-lethal riots against armed police brutality. This is the same thing as glorifying the Cultural Revolution in Communist China.

Straw man much? Those who "support lethal gun violence against police oppression" fall into one of two categories: a vanishingly tiny minority of extremists (yeah, Europe, you have them too. "Brevik" ring a bell?), or those who support the *enduring ability for*, but not the current act of, doing violence upon an oppressive government, should it at some point in the future become the enemy of liberty. The idea being that once the government has become that oppressive, it's too late for the citizenry to try to arm themselves, so they must be prepared aforehand. Of course, I'm sure someone here will make some ad hominem about me being a tin-foil-hat conspiracy theorist for daring to conceive the mere possibility of something like an oppressive regime or civil war *ever* happening in the US, despite that it has historically happened in the US before, and in every nation of the world (or the regions on which those nations now stand, anyway) numerous times, and will accuse me of "eagerly awaiting Rambo fantasies of overthrowing the government", but hey, strawman adhominems are a dime a dozen.

In the real world, it's kind of like how the US and Russia *having* a nuclear stockpile doesn't mean they *want* to use them, only that they know they must maintain the capability, both as a threat to dissuade the other guy from trying anything, and as a response for if the unthinkable happens and the other guy actually *does* try something.

Oh, also, there's a difference between a riot (in which force is used and crimes commited) and a demonstration (which is a peaceable and legal gathering to show support or opposition to a legal or social issue). People have no problems with the *demonstrations*, they have problems with the *violence* being done, particularly when it's in response to some of these police shootings that were clearly well-justified. Fleeing armed robber points gun at cop? Police shooting justified. Man resists arrest and reaches for gun in pocket? Police shooting justified. Some of the recent cases have been no-shit police misconduct... but strangely, they're not the ones that seem to get the actual attention or prompt demonstrations, while a case where a black cop legally and justifiably shoots a black criminal who was in the act of pointing a gun at the officer... that sparks rioting? I really don't understand the mentality driving some of these demonstrations and/or riots....

As for the lady's house burning down... that sucks, but I'm not sure how it's news. A random unfortunate accident that happens thousands of times a year just happened to befall someone who at some previous point made the news? So? How is that any more noteworthy than all the other housefires that happened this week?

I tend to agree with the assessment that it seems to be a simple case of that the boy is just an all-round moron.
