Depends on the cut of meat and how prepared. My favorite is a choice ribeye steak rubbed with garlic and black pepper, sprinkled with Worcestershire sauce then broiled to medium-well accompanied by a baked potato. It is delicious.

Other times you get bottom of the barrel tough and lean meat that is a pain to chew and flavorless. Or maybe it was undercooked or overcooked. A bad experience there and you could be turned off steak.

For a good steak you want either Ribeye, T-Bone/Porterhouse, Strip, or Filet/tenderloin (this one is expensive). Avoid anything called a 'chuck steak'.

Chuck is stew meat, yes.

I am absolutely appalled. This steak is overcooked!

Overdone, maybe, but it might not be cooked much at all..

It's seared a bit on the dark side; I'm guessing it's probably medium-rare. But it is overdone, too; the garnish is just... unnecessary.

Some of that color is probably the sauce it's covered in, but yes. It looks to be around medium-rare. You can, however, have a much more rare steak with that color by cooking at higher heat. Searing the outside doesn't always cook the inside all that much. The grill marks take only a few seconds, too.

I mean, I guess, it wasn't really a traditional steak, as it was grilled, chopped, and cooked in lots of soy sauce. I really don't like steak, tastes bad.

I Have, and I liked it, but my preferred preparation of meat (lean as possible and well-cooked) offends people enough that I don't order it in nice restaurants.

It depends entirely on what cut, how it's seasoned, and how it's cooked. Going with a sirloin, I personally cook my steak medium-rare for that pink juiciness on the inside but cooked enough that it's tender and easy to cut. Marinating isn't necessary, but it adds to the flavor depending on what you use to marinate and how long you leave it. I tend to marinate it in worcerstershire sauce for a couple hours, but you can do it for a day if you don't mind the wait. Then I do a rub of minced garlic, black pepper, and a bit of salt. I take the extra step of cooking it in red wine and using the juices left over to saute onions to go on top when it's done.

The great thing about living in new york, you can learn from your mistakes by eating out and trying new things in your cooking. It should also be known that trying to go with a twist on things that cooking a steak in apple juice is not recommended when going for a somewhat fruitier taste, in fact, a steak doesn't need to be fruity, if you want anything like that all you gotta do is throw a spoonful of applesauce on top when you're done. Don't ask why I did this just take my word for it and don't ruin a perfectly good steak.

I've eaten many steaks, and I say they are very delicious. It also depends on how they are cooked. I like my steaks well done on the grill with all that smokey flavor and put some butter, salt, and pepper on it So good!
