Do you have one? Anyone close or someone you know that suffers from one?
What's your experience with it?
What do you think about it? What do you think about the people who have it?
Is there stigma/discrimination with people who have it?

If you're familiar with the topic; do you think it's biologically determined?
Are mental disorders created due to societal norms?
Is it right to diagnose people and say that they have a problem?
Do you trust the system in place for mental disorders?

It's a grey topic that is usually never discussed, yet it affects so many people out there in the world.
So tell me.

Who knows. The Crunchyroll Forums. The Crunchyroll Forums. I don't really consider it, or the people who suffer from it. Probably maybe, I guess.

People think so, as a general consensus. Sometimes, as a general consensus. It is correct, at times, but not at other times. Not always.

Yet, without a doubt, I am able to assure you that it is working as intended.

Yes, more specifically Asperger's Syndrome. IIRC, it's high-functioning autism and is very high on the autism spectrum. Of course, I don't give a fuck if I'm made fun of regardless of it (besides, how many times have you heard "autistic" as an insult on the Internet, exactly? Probably too many to count, LOL.) I just want to live out the life I want to live, regardless of any of the obstacles in my way.

As someone who was initially diagnosed with the same disorder, you should probably be made aware that "Asperger's Syndrome" is a medically outdated term right now.

So essentially we both fall under "Autism Spectrum Disorder", medically speaking.

1) please explain what you mean by biologically determined. If you mean genetics then that depends completely on the specific disorders as some have genetic variables involved and others do not. If you mean things that disrupt the biological functions of the brain then yes but once again it depends on the specifics.

2) Some maybe in the past but no, not now. A mental disorder is not something society does not like or considers odd, a mental disorder is something disruptive in your brain chemistry or structure that impairs it's function in some way. You can say it is uncommon as far as society is considered for someone to hallucinate butterflies eating people 24/7 but you would have to be ignorant or idiotic to the Nth degree to say that someone saying the person hallucinating has something wrong with them is doing so because they are unusual.

3) Yes. In what possible reality would trying to help people wrong? if something is broken you first find what the problem is and then attempt to fix it.

4) Mostly. There is no one system seeing as we aren't all in one giant country with 100% consistent mental help so I'm not sure how to respond to your question without knowing the system you are specifically asking about.

Do you have one? I get anxiety when outside of my routine--especially in new situations. It makes some simple tasks...difficult.
Anyone close or someone you know that suffers from one? Yes.
What's your experience with it? It's a pain in the ass.
What do you think about it? It's a pain in the ass.
What do you think about the people who have it? Sucks to be them.
Is there stigma/discrimination with people who have it? People don't really understand it and how difficult it can be to manage. Not to say one shouldn't try to manage it at all.

If you're familiar with the topic; do you think it's biologically determined? It's comorbid with my Autism Spectrum Disorder--which I'm pretty sure I got from my Father who got it from my Grandfather. In an indirect fashion, it was more biologically probabilistic for me to have anxiety.
Are mental disorders created due to societal norms? No.
Is it right to diagnose people and say that they have a problem? Yes, if you mean professionals.
Do you trust the system in place for mental disorders? Somewhat. Some people jump to drugs and medication too quickly.

Lol, CR is autistic.

@Progrockdude
ASD is not a mental disorder. ASD is more neurological or developmental. Having ASD doesn't make you mentally ill or unhealthy, but it does make it more probabilistic. Asperger's also no longer exists and you should consider being reevaluated if it's been awhile.
