Not safe enough imo. Very small town and mostly friendly people, but had a few creeps in the area.

Anytime such an area exists criminals from big cities hear about it then invade in mass till everyone locks their doors.

I'd rather ALWAYS lock everything and be the hardest target in the area.

So, you rather continue locking your doors, even if you were to live in the safest place?

Yup. Locking my doors costs me nothing while not locking them can cost me everything. Obviously I take locking my doors because it has no downsides.

I'm sure most of us live in areas where we could do that but the news has us all paranoid that someone's gonna come waltzing in

I live in suburban area. The area is quite peaceful, haven't heard robbery before. My house's windows and doors' locks are old, and they can be broken easy. Don't have a security system either.

Love Non Non Biyori so much, i have watched it multiple times i love the peaceful, cheerful, cute atmosphere of the anime, however lets say irl if i were to live in such a town i would still lock my doors cause how many people have pointed out i lose nothing from locking them. Always prepare for the worst.

Yeah, I remember the one time I went to Japan about a decade ago, and the locals told me about how they don't lock their doors. I was so surprised and envious of country Japan at that very moment.

You get robbed even when you lock your doors here in the US. GG 'murica.

The area I live in people will live with their doors unlocked and garages open ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'd go crazy with worry if I lived like that, to each his own.
