My favorite all time fictional character is The Hunter from C.S. Friedman's Coldfire Trilogy which consists of:

1. Black Sun Rising
2. When True Night Falls
3. Crown of Shadows.

I don't know if others like him or not. Probably enough people don't know about these awesome books. But if you want a good hero/villain then you really can't get any better than The Hunter who is probably one of that planet's greatest evils but is forced to help the goodguys for reasons that I don't want to spoil here.

If you get a chance then read the books. They're really good and very different. They're fantasy with a bit of sci-fi thrown in, mainly at the beginning which starts out a bit confusing but makes sense once you read them. Here's the description of the first book:

Sorry for the sales pitch. This thread made me think about these books and how awesome the characters are.

It's hard to pick out a favorite character as there are so many that are well done and memorable, but at the same time don't really stand out. Right now any anime or live-action fictional character has to fight against the shining brilliance of My Little Pony. So I guess I'll do a few favorite characters of mine.

Let's start out with a Live-Action character. Malcolm Reynolds I'll have to choose for this. The Doctor would probably be a close second. As for why I choose Mal, Firefly was one of the first live action shows I watched that fleshed out every character they had. They all seemed inherently believable and were their own person. Of course this wasn't always the case and a lot of this is filling in the blanks with headcanon. I just really loved Firefly above everything else I've seen so far. Mal would probably be an A or a C.

Anime favorite is a lot harder to choose. While I haven't watched as many anime series as plenty of others on this site, I have a few memorable series for myself. The problem is that with so many different shows and characters, I find myself constantly jumping between show favorites and trope favorites. The same thing goes for books. It's hard to really care for characters a lot of the time when we only get to see them for a short while. While I can't really choose a favorite singular character, I will choose a favorite anime. Angel Beats, the first anime to give me a serious attack of the feels. I'm not too sure on the overall feedback of this anime, so I'll go with A or B on this one.

And finally, My Little Pony. Your annoyance only satisfies me. I actually hadn't placed any of these characters in order of how much I liked them yet, which was remedied by this thread. It's a three way tie between Twilight, Celestia and Discord. The fan favorite of the bunch would most likely be Discord, John De Lancy is a god. Twilight and Celestia seem to go either way. I'd say Twilight if it wasn't for the fan song and animation, Lullaby for a Princess. Celestia is definitely the winner here. And for the rating I'm going to go with B on her.

(Luna is definitely the fan favorite princess, although it's probably more of an equal split.)

That sounds like a book series that's right up my alley for what I like to read, watch, etc.. I'll have to remember to check it out.

Because he's so ignored its awesome you mentioned him^^

As for me way too many anime, cartoons, games, movies, tv series, comics, manga, etc to think of my actual favorite fictional character.
But here is one from my childhood Throttle from biker mice from mars, probably mostly forgotten by now.
My patch on back of my leather vest for riding is biker mice from mars logo
