Actually being a trash man pays really well especially for the kind of work you do. I feel jobs that are overrated are more of the ones like game development, or IT professional. So many people want those jobs but don't realize how much pain goes with them. 10-14 hour work days suck, even when your passionate.

Probably:

Engineer ( I am an engineering major myself)
Doctor/ Surgeon (my old career path until I realized I did not want to school for that long)
Nurse or an assistant in anything medicine related (I think about 8 of my cousins fall in this field)
Biology (most people refer to it as the go to STEM major when you fail at everything else, but I like bio so I don't see it that way)

Those are the ones I can think of. Of course, just because a job or career is overrated doesn't mean you shouldn't pursue it. Our futures aren't something to play with and we should do what interests us even if we change our minds a bunch of times.

As an example, I started off wanting to be an Electrician, then Doctor, once I started college I was between Doctor and Biomedical Engineer but I quickly dropped doctor then pursued a Biomedical and Electrical Engineering double major but I dropped both because the biomed curriculum at the time I was a freshmen was so horrible I felt like I was going to be in school for like 7 years and I dropped electrical because I am actually really brain dead when it comes to wiring and stuff (i don't put myself in danger but it takes me too long to figure stuff out and it was almost a 6 year career, too much debt). I then decided to do Computer Science and a Videogame Design double major but then dropped the Computer Science major because it was kind of boring and I wanted to work with visuals and stuff I can see, plus I was doing the computer science track of game design so my diploma is going to say computer science on it anyways. And now I'm just debating on whether or not to take some computer security classes or minor in computer engineering to have some hardware knowledge when it comes to making games

The more an employer tries to sell a job to the person they're interviewing, the more desperate they are to get you to do their job.

At least where I currently go to school, anyone who plans on "making big money" is taking the medical route...so this is only speaking for one city in Kansas XD

In my country, doctors are highly valued in the rural areas due to poverty. Doctors without Borders is one such example of how highly esteemed doctors are.

Well, I guess not all places are like here then XD

I will add on engineer though, as that is the other big job that people (again, here XD) seem to want

Pretty sure the girl who tugs on the guys balls in between porn takes feels pretty worthless. This comes from someone who digs dead people into the ground and back up for a living.
