take a look at this vid and tell me what you think

honestly, I like both ways, but like in berserk it goes overboard, It hurt my eyes to try and follow it

now in buddyfight it does it properly, it flows, sometimes you cant even tell the difference,

if you like card games check out that anime btw

I don't mind it, when done properly

I just watched that video yesterday. Weird.

CG can be good, but people don't mention the good looking CG as much, because it's not an eyesore and doesn't stick out much.

Well, to say CG is ruining it would be like saying dubs ruin all anime. Dubs can definitely ruin the emotion and the very fun of watching an anime but to say all dubs are bad would be mistake. I think CG sort of feels out of place with some anime and can hurt it in the long run, while others are amazing, in my opinion.

So I basically said what Redokami said. xD

Yes it is.

If you do an anime completely CG (like RWBY) I won't watch it. Some people say RWBY is awesome, well guess what? I'm not watching it because of that reason. If you just learn to incorporate CG properly, that is completely acceptable.

First of all, lack of detail. There is no life to the characters. Wonky and shabby movement, there is no weight to the character, there is no feeling, it's so lifeless that it completely takes away from what I'm watching.

Sure it's easier to rip out an anime in CG, well good for you for not respecting the process.

I like sharp and beautiful anime. Yeah, I know, it takes a lòooooooooooooooooooooooong time, but isn't that soo much more worth it in the end?

It's money's fault, fuck money, this is entertainment, it should be respected..

I just feel bad because this is all about money, and this is the main reason many people have gone to CG, and it worries me.

I would love to learn how to properly draw and make anime, it is pure art and dedication. You start using CG, what's the point. Then you are looking at quantity over quality, and I'll be damned if I see anime become that.

No. Not even slightly. For starters, there are plenty of anime that don't use CG, or rather, don't use noticeable CG. The idea that something that doesn't affect, or barely affects most of the anime out there is ruining anime is absolutely absurd.

As Ocale said, most of the attention is drawn to the terrible examples of CG rather than examples where it was implemented well, because, as is human nature, we tend to focus on the negative, rather than the positive. It's not ruining anime. It's not a plague on the industry. At best it's a form of animation that is very easy to get wrong. Unfortunately, as I said, when it goes wrong is when it gets the most reaction.

No. Bad production is. I'd rather have more Sidonia than the quality of Qualidea Code.

No. If done properly it can make a scene look gorgeous, Ufotable has made it VERY clear (obvious example is obvious). Anime that are entirely made in CG have just started being produced, Polygon Pictures has done amazing shows like Sidonia and Ajin, yet people will not even look at them just because they're made in CG. I know the animation in both shows is not perfect, but seriously how can people expect to have the same level of quality of something like a Pixar movie from a smaller Japanese studio? Even the majority of american cartoons made in CG don't look good often.

And besides, for any bad CG anime, there are movies like Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV, so no use complaining.

I'd say shitty writing and lack of originality is a large pox upon anime than CG.

I don't care if it's cg or not. As long as the cg isn't ugly and the writing is good, there's no reason for me to hate it. Sure anime is supposed to be.... well animation, but we can't expect everything to be kabaneri of the iron fortress levels of detailed.

No it is not. Especially since hand drawn animation is not some sacrosanct thing. There is literally dozens upon dozens of hand drawn anime that have shitty animation that is incredibly noticeable because bad hand drawn animation sticks out like a sore thumb.

Love Live, Hanasaku Iroha, Non Non Biyori, Nagi no Asukara, Shirobako, Is The Order a Rabbit, Magnitude 8 among many others used CG.
i'd say they looked quite pleasant to the eye. the cg used in Aikatsu isn't half bad, either (season 2 onwards)
