Also, what if you started doing hard drugs? 2,000 years craving cocaine and heroin.. would not be fun, but on the other hand you couldn't die from them. Most people would do drugs at some point during immortality I'm sure, now that I think about it.

Now if someone fuckin' tells me, "I'd never do drugs, ever, literally not in a million years" ....I'm gonna ..STRONGLY doubt that claim. Followed up with "God, young people are stupid."

some of us wouldn't

The thought of it is tempting but knowing the permanent damage if your going to live for longer then 1000 years....its best to keep your brain safe :)

I forgot to take into account the fact that, if you're immortal, you're looking at consequences stretching far into the future. But if nothing else, once you're certain that you want to die soon, you're definitely gonna drug out. Unless you forget to, or just never have this idea.

Oh, and any brain damage from drug use would heal, since all your wounds are temporary. I don't know if addiction would heal though. If it would heal, I'd be going on a drug binge annually.

oh sure once you decide to die might as well go out high.

Most likely you'd be certain it's time to die, drug out... and then be a junkie for 20 years. There's a lot of angles to this that I'm discovering after the fact.

I would loose my immortality by dying for another, after all others risk their lives to save another (others).

This is really hard to understand, but you can't trade in your immortality to save someone else, or give it away to someone else.

Btw, is this a quote from an anime? I have no idea.

I'd probably stick around until I got sufficiently bored.

I'd be the last human or something. Who knows? Maybe I'd go into space and live on another planet -- as long as immortality includes not needing to eat, drink, or breathe.

I'd stick around for as long as humanity exists, maybe longer if we achieve the technology to visit other planets or coexist with space-faring aliens.

Well your perception of time is the same from 1-19 can't speak from past then though.

I remember when a week felt long and year felt like an eternity. Now imagine the repetitiveness of life, it'll be like reading a book, you'll look up and an hour passed but felt like a few minutes.

I'm guessing at 300 years old you'll be over life, totally bored, totally read every book you wanted, every game you wanted to play you've already played. I mean look at all the sequels.

I think the only cat's that are gonna have a good time with an incredibly long life are people that make shit using their creativity like, writing books, drawing art, composing music, inventing new shit.

You'd also be filthy rich cuz you'd be famous for being a vampire.

I would just go around the world doing all the crazy stuff I have ever wanted to do, and then once there was nothing that held any interest for me anymore, the end. Honestly though I think I would rather just live out my life. I don't even really want to live past 60.

I think a lot of the guys on here saying they would live forever don't really understand the concept of infinity. There is no way that the human mind, with all it's limitations, could cope with the possibility of an infinite timeline. Here's my perspective:

100-200: you've done a lot of shit, had a great time
200-500: This is around the point I would choose to die. Everyone who you care about has passed away and it gets harder to make friends to understand that eventually they'll just pass away. You've also probably done everything you could really want.
500-1000: Yeah, this is when it starts to get weird. The human race is now completely different, and as a person from the past with such a rich history, you're going to have problems and a really hard time adjusting to this new environment.
1000-5000: Lol dayum if you're not batshit insane at this point, I'll applaud you. You would at this point really have trouble telling the passing of time. I doubt I would even try to talk to someone just because you would be so culturally, mentally and physically confused about literally every single fucking thing about life.

If you're living past 5000+ years without some sort of memory wipe, you will not function normally- no questions, just a fact.

You think anime is interesting? Try saying that after you've watched 100,000 shows. Your perception of reality would be fucked.
You think following football is fun? Try saying that after you've watched your home team win 100 superbowls, switched to another team, and had them win another 100 superbowls.
You think playing videogames is fun? Try saying that after you've played it for an hour or two every day for fucking 10,000 goddamn years. I'd ram my head into the damn TV next time someone tells me about the next cool RPG.
You think you like your friends, family, loved ones? Try saying that after they're all dead, you've made new friends, they've all died, and then another pair of friends you made after that have also died.

You would be an absolutely, unbearable pile of misery in just a couple of hundred years. But hey, guess what! You live FOREVER, so none of that shit is ever going away, and you've only lived 0% of your life. That's right, 0 fucking percent cause that shit is never, ever, ever going to end.

Get real folks. Death is fucking awesome, and it's there because we, as humans, are designed to be mortal. We ain't no gods.

Lol sorry for the rant
