I think a lot of the guys on here saying they would live forever don't really understand the concept of infinity. There is no way that the human mind, with all it's limitations, could cope with the possibility of an infinite timeline. Here's my perspective:

100-200: you've done a lot of shit, had a great time
200-500: This is around the point I would choose to die. Everyone who you care about has passed away and it gets harder to make friends to understand that eventually they'll just pass away. You've also probably done everything you could really want.
500-1000: Yeah, this is when it starts to get weird. The human race is now completely different, and as a person from the past with such a rich history, you're going to have problems and a really hard time adjusting to this new environment.
1000-5000: Lol dayum if you're not batshit insane at this point, I'll applaud you. You would at this point really have trouble telling the passing of time. I doubt I would even try to talk to someone just because you would be so culturally, mentally and physically confused about literally every single fucking thing about life.

If you're living past 5000+ years without some sort of memory wipe, you will not function normally- no questions, just a fact.

You think anime is interesting? Try saying that after you've watched 100,000 shows. Your perception of reality would be fucked.
You think following football is fun? Try saying that after you've watched your home team win 100 superbowls, switched to another team, and had them win another 100 superbowls.
You think playing videogames is fun? Try saying that after you've played it for an hour or two every day for fucking 10,000 goddamn years. I'd ram my head into the damn TV next time someone tells me about the next cool RPG.
You think you like your friends, family, loved ones? Try saying that after they're all dead, you've made new friends, they've all died, and then another pair of friends you made after that have also died.

You would be an absolutely, unbearable pile of misery in just a couple of hundred years. But hey, guess what! You live FOREVER, so none of that shit is ever going away, and you've only lived 0% of your life. That's right, 0 fucking percent cause that shit is never, ever, ever going to end.

Get real folks. Death is fucking awesome, and it's there because we, as humans, are designed to be mortal. We ain't no gods.

Lol sorry for the rant

You forget, you can be coerced into killing yourself. So technically you're mortal if someone can convince you to kill yourself or drug you into doing it.

This is a fantastic response.
Yeah the people saying they'd live forever, know next to nothing about themselves. They actually believe they could handle living for 5 million years. It's not just ignorance about yourself, it's also a baseless arrogance. They think they can do anything at all, and be able to handle the most extreme versions of madness and suffering, and come out utterly unscathed.

If I learned nothing else from this discussion, it's that if you ask someone who is underdeveloped, or just young, how great they are, the answer is going to be just about, "I'm roughly next to God. I am invincible, and a genius, and my psyche will never even bend under the greatest of pressures." They don't take it into account the fact that they're only human. There's no humility to be found.

I was homeless and doing this. It's pretty fun, but eventually you kind of break, and the boredom of it devours you.

If this discussion weren't too dead to be derailed, I'd report you and ask you to go away.

As soon as I find out that I have immorality I'll kill myself
How? Just shoot myself in the head and as to why? Well I don't want to live forever, sounds boring living for so long.

It kind of does sound boring. I looked at my current life and thought, this shit for 2k years? I'm sure there'd be a ton of changes over 2,000 years though. It's kind of like the depressed perspective, everything will always be like it is now, and then the realistic perspective, things change, sometimes drastically.

Oh and you can just choose to die, and a bullet to the head wouldn't kill you.

But yeah, sometimes when I look to the future, I just really, really want to live a long time. More than anything.

Bonus fact that makes me sound like an idiot: I smoke cigarettes. Want to live a long time; actively preventing that.

your perception of time would probably get screwy

Depends how you define perception of time. Time does not actually pass faster for you when you're older like you're fast forwarding life or something. It's just that when you try to remember what happened in life, it gets harder the older you are since there are less novel events to remember as you get older since you've already experienced them. Your brain basically creates less copies of the same memory if it wasn't that interesting. This results in your brain being tricked into thinking that not much time has passed.

OTP: Lol, I'd try to live for as long civilization exists. Advances in neuroscience can probably do something about the possible side-effects of long life.

Guy Traveled To Mexico To Kill Himself, Had A Change Of Heart After Banging Hookers And Doing Tons Of Cocaine

This would happen so frequently with people who are immortal this way.

I would probably get fit and do the Militairy thing for a while. When i'm done would love to just travel the world and learn all the different languages and cultures. Play videogames, go to school for multiple things. And try things that i generally think or thought of as too dangerous. when i'm done I would dedicate myself to discovering how it is that I came to be Immortal, hopefully figuring it out and being able to bestow the gift on others i Find interesting. I see no reason why I would choose to die so N/A on that part.

Following how I came to be immortal would be my goal for all the years I decided to live. At some point I would believe I was chosen by God or actually God. The first 100+ years would be the hardest to deal with; loved ones dying, cultural change, etc.. 200+ years would all be adapting to what I am; Sub-human. Trying to see if my "ability" could be reproduced. I'd go around trying to reproduce, fall back into despair after seeing them all die(if some do live I'd be excited obviously lol) . Then live, adapting and making sure Humans don't find out what I am(I wouldn't want to be a lab rat T_T), until I was driven to end my life.
