Hello all,

I'm writing this because at the beginning of the summer there was news article on Crunchyroll announcing that FMA:B would be coming to the site. After a while the show was taken off of Netflix so I thought it would be happening soon, but now it has been around two months and I have not seen any news or update talking about the situation. Does anyone happen to know what's going on and why it's taking so long for CR to add FMA:B to the lineup?

What? It was on Netflix?! Then again it was probably area restricted. But yeah, i haven't heard anything since it was announced in summer. I wonder what's up with that?

At least in North America, both FMA and FMA:B have been rotated on and off both Netflix and Hulu a couple of time over the last few years. Currently neither of them has either show--neither does Funimation, which had owned the streaming rights to the original FMA for awhile on this continent.

I hope CR wouldn't have announced it if it wasn't mostly a done deal. I think there are probably three stories you can tell for the delay:

a) waiting for the holiday season to boost merchandise sales (the cynics story)
b) negotiating some last minute technical details that are delaying things, (the realists story)
c) trying to get the manga rights and want to release the simultaneously (the optimists story)

Take your pick.

I'd be willing to bet they have everything ready to go but are just holding out for a couple weeks until the next season starts and they can advertise it alongside everything else.

It could also be that they are just waiting for the current licence holder's rights to expire. The negotiations for the new licence may be complete but if the current licence is active until the end of August then they won't be able to stream until September.
