Honestly i don't know why they made desert people have purple long disappointment hair? O.o

Whats wrong with brown or black hair? The only thing i sorta liked in the beginning was describing the xenophobic view of blonde hair from a country sharing different cultures :P

And although the Sinbad from the 90s may not be 100% accurate on ethnic traits, i atleast thought it was cheesy but well made of what Sinbad is suppose to be about. A sea sailor looting and discovering distance enchanting places. I also have problems which most anime has and that is massive melodrama or the fact that the child cannot act like a normal child would react "Dad. Bad, dad bad". No, thats not how it works!

I also happen to be a fan of Zen Gesner, i mean the masculine characters and all! Maybe not accurate but emm... i'll pass for it!

Either way from what i know the original stories is based on arabian fairytales, likely in Bagdad. So why is it that some of the name sounds made up. Reim Empire and Parthevia Empire, i dont claim to be an expert on geography but i am somewhat sure those are just made up names . Like i dont expect them to go all Allahu Akbar on each other (Which one dont really need to think considering sailors are sorta their own boss. And i dont think Alcohol would be canon in islamic culture back then either as the series start with seing them drink "But then again pagan cultures may be affected")

Either way i just have too much good memories from Sinbad 1996.1998 more or less. This felt like some fabolous weird melodramatic trip that just turned me off, when i expected it to be just brawling for booties and hanging with the crew. Like thats it! The Sinbad Crew sailing, discovering places and helping people meeting mythological creatures. And thats it!

It's anime, dude. The manga is not One Thousand and One Nights (though there is another manga for that). It just borrows some ideas from it. Reim and Parthevia are based on the Roman and Persian empires, btw. Oh, and Sinbad's purple hair is awesome.

And like, there are dragon people in Magi but it's Sinbad's hair you call out for being unrealistic?

I couldnt find Reim. But i found however something that sounds like Parthevia, which is Parthian Empire, which was in like 200 bc to 200 AD, basically Iranian rule. Sinbad is during the Abbasid Caliphate, which is 566–653 AD

I don't understand your point. The author took some loose inspiration from actual empires. I don't think she was concerned with whether they were contemporary in history. This isn't historical literature it's action-fantasy.

You do know that Magi: Adventure of Sinbad is a spin-off based on a side character from another fantasy manga/anime, right?

I just thought the series was poorly made thats all. Like its not that i am against animations take on culture. I for example like Spice and Wolf, Holo is thought of as a pagan goddess, and it also describes the power of the church and differences, while the political stuff is in the background and the focus is romance, it more or less works!. Even though i have no clue on economics so i cant tell if they are correct or not but i'll likely buy it. But basically if its well made then i am all for it. For example there was this series called "

The same with Fullmetal Alchemist: (I saw brotherhood version) even though its fictional it bases real world 1st world war Colonialism and stuff with some fictional supernatural science in the medieval period called alchemy, but in the real world this was not accepted in 19th century because it was ment to be factual and this was supernatural so that works.

Shows like Rokka no Yuusha is what i would describe as terrible though (I dont really know where its located, but the point is its not what i would classify as good)
