It's Hatsune Miku's 9th Birthday
Posted 8/30/16 , edited 10/2/16
It has been 9 years. I can remember first listening to Ryo's "Melt" back in late 2007/2008. It was so long ago I can't remember exactly when it was, but I do remember being absolutely amazed.

Miku is my reminder of my coming of age. She was what really pushed me to start getting more interested in all the weeby things that are out there. She is a symbol of nostalgia for me, and her progression over time baffles me. I have checked the Miku tag on pixiv every single day for years. She means a lot to me, even though I've lost a lot of interest in songs featuring her. There are many, many songs from years ago and more recently that I've memorised the Japanese lyrics to, even though I can't speak the language whatsoever.

She means a lot to me, and her existence just makes me happy. I absolutely love her. I can't really explain it, but for that, I wish her a happy birthday.

Happy birthday, Miku.

I'm going to keep bumping this thread all day.

No she wasn't the first one to be released by Crypton. Not even the second. The first and second was Meiko and Kaito, and that's why they don't have a number on their avatar.
Miku was the first of the V2 Vocaloids, that's why she has the number 01 on her left arm and that's why a lot of people believe she was the first Vocaloid from Crypton. But we can say, without her, Vocaloids wouldn't be so popular as they are. She's the first Vocaloid, who broke the boundaries and made the road wide for the other Vocaloids.
And now she's new voicebank has came out, the V4X.
