at first the live tiles could lag in win 10. but that issue has been fixed

so far it has been more stable than win 7 for me.

as for the spyware-ish stuff I just run spybot anti beacon and it turns most of it off.

the one Issue I do have is it doesn't want to run some included windows software if you have it in test mode (android dev/hacking needs unsigned drivers sometimes) but I just keep a 12 year old xp laptop around for that but unsigned drivers can have issues with win 7 too.

Windows ME never existed. I don't know why you'd bring up something that never happened

Windows 10 needs newer computer components than its predecessors, even if you meet the "requirements". As the OP pointed out, the apps are there, which are constantly doing things in the background, making things slower if your PC is not as strong. I have noticed that the 3+ year PCs can not even run it due to the onboard graphics card and the DDR2 ram. Since I upgrade my machine every year, I do not have an issue.

While 10 does a few new nice features, I still prefer how 7 ran.

Windows 10 is by far the best of the OS that MS have made. I upgraded my 10 year old PC (it originally shipped with Vista). W10 has been optimised for older hardware although I have had to help a few people where W10 couldn't find a driver and the manufacturer of the PC wouldn't sign the win 7 or 8 driver as being compatible even though it is. Log on is quick and everything responds as you expect it too.

If I can run on a quad core duo on 4 GB of RAM anything around that spec should handle it. I also have a DPS 13 with an i7 and 8GB of RAM and it runs fine.

I am currently working on a project at work to roll it out to 5000+ plus users.

If you don't want to use a modern processor or get better multicore support, I guess. Otherwise, no.

Windows 10 is the name, but it's still going to be updated just like any other version of Windows would be.

If your primary concern is privacy, I'd recommend running from the internet.

I have windows 10 and it does some things that annoys me but I wouldn't call it the worst windows OS...... I think Vista was somewhat worse and had more glitches.

My two biggest complaints with it both involve updates.
1) Updates are forced down your throat at Microsoft's schedule. I have a laptop I've shut down many times because the battery was nearly dead for example 5% and Win 10 starts to install updates and I have to quickly find an AC outlet so I don't brick my pc.

2) Windows 10 will uninstall software during updates without your permission and only notify you afterword. So far I have not lost any essential software this way but the fact it uninstalls software I loaded without my permission gets under my skin.

I also have minor complaints about it but I'll get over with time such as terminology changes like "ALL APPS" in the start menu vs "All Programs" or "All Software" like previous editions. I'm currently dual booting Ubuntu and only get into windows for specific programs I use but some things on my PC actually work better in 10 than they did in 7.

Windows ME is the worst, windows 8 next, then its a toss up between 10 and vista depending on how much you value privacy.

This is why 10 is horrible:

I said fuck that OS designed by the NSA and went with a Linux mint/7 boot. Outside of old games I don't even use 7 anymore Linux can do everything else.

How old are we talking? I installed it on an HP from 2007 sporting a Core 2 Duo E6850 and it runs faster than windows 7 did on it. Then again I did a fresh install of it. A lot of people do upgrades and you should never ever run a windows installation from an upgrade
