Post Reply Windows 10 is supposed to be the worst Windows to exist
Posted 9/1/16
I love windows 10 and I've never had any issues other than when I clean installed they needed a key

and then I had to contact microsoft at the time prove to them I had a legit win 7 key (wrote it down before the clean install) and the employee had given me a key to activate it since I qualified for the free upgrade and that was the only problem.

Been loving win 10's features.

I come from a GNU/Linux background and Windows 10 is actually pretty good; performance wise - PERFORMANCE wise. After a few months I've noticed Windows being Windows and slowing the fuck down and being shitty again. Couple that with whatever bullshit MS is sending back to their servers and you can consider it shit. I miss working on non-MS software.

My computer wanted to upgrade to Windows 10, but I heard so many bad things about it that decided not to upgrade and just stick with Windows 7. Besides my laptop is fairly old (had it since 2010) so it might not have been able to handle Windows 10 anyways.

No, I do not have a single problem.
I'm not a nerd, and I don't use the PC for anything other than surfing the web and streaming, therefore I cannot tell the difference between windows 95 and windows 10.

Microsoft cant even produce a working web browser anymore... or a single app for their own phones lol.
that being the case why would anyone expect them to make a good operating system?

I take it you haven't actually used Edge. Or any apps on Windows 10 Mobile.

Edge made me get Chrome. Same problems, slightly faster.

I can't even begin to describe the frustrations and horror this piece of shit brought me. I took a vacation and my stupid boss decided to upgrade 150 users to Windows ME. I had put Windows 98 back on all the machines. The CEO wanted to keep Windows ME anyway, and cried everyday about stuff not working.

All they did for the "apps" was rename "Programs" to "Apps"

Windows 10 is okay but one thing i really hate that is how much worse Media Player became after update. Seriously, the old version is better. I'll give two examples:

- In the old version, switching subs/language was easy, simply doing it DURING the movie (example) was a great thing. But now, every time i want to switch subs/language, i have to interrupt it and go to the menu and switch it there... (seriously, no matter how hard i look, i can't find it in the any of those, Tools, etc...)

- ... Which bring up this next problem. In order to exit the movie, i have to press Alt+T. Sounds simple, right? Well, no. Sometimes it takes a like a million times to press the buttons before anything happens. Why it has to be so complicated? In the old version, all you had to was simply pressing DVD (if i recall) mark somewhere in the bottom middle.

Other than that, there's nothing else. The update made it slighty better.

I was playing ultima online on ME with too little ram. Ultima online was a "lose exp and drop everything" when you die game... I still remember the horrors of ME causing me so much pain

I would say about 5-6 yrs old, so I am surprised that 10 works for you. Although a computer is more than just a CPU, the amount of RAM, graphics processor/card, and hard drive type affects OS speed more than people realize. You did what a few people did as well, a fresh install. I can bet a shiny new penny that helped a lot.

I like windows 7 a lot more. I've had many problems since they upgraded me without asking lol, it's very good on newer computers but seems to be very unreliable if installed via an upgrade on an older win 7 machine, they should not have forced the upgrade on the people as it's caused many problems worldwide.
