No, it's that the flood of identical content-free "Have you ever eaten orangutans, breakfast cereals and fruitbats? Are they good?" threads are the same guy from:
"Why do you girls wear makeup?"

Yeah. Remember those? Same guy, bored AGAIN. Let's find something else for him to do. Permanently.
(Interpret that however you wish. )

Okay, enough with the "Have you ever done this rather common thing" threads that can easily be answered Yes/No, and to which you contribute virtually nothing at all to get discussion started.

If you have some particular interest in the common topic, try to at least make it discussion-worthy and to contain your own thoughts as a launching off point.

For example, on the topic of salads one might say,

Last night I ate at this new restaurant that just opened up in town and can you believe it? There were two whole pages of salads. Pomegranate salad, crunchy chicken salad, pizza-in-a-bowl salad, and more, more, more!

I do like salad, but I'm most fond of a basic garden salad. Some lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and a little Italian dressing is what "salad" means to me.

What about you? Do you have a favorite salad? What's the oddest salad you've seen on a menu? What's the "fanciest" salad you've ever eaten.

Bonus points: What ingredients do you think were in that "pizza-in-a-bowl salad?
